There was a leak under the bathtub in the Master bathroom, which was renovated in September 2022 by Quality Craftsmen. I called Quality Craftsmen on 5/14/2024, explained to the person who answered the phone what happened and was told I was being transferred to a special department, my call was transferred to a voicemail with no name, and no one called me back. I am requesting to be reimbursed for replacement of the drywall and new tile.Business response

I am rejecting this response because:Quality Craftsmen asked me to remove my negative remark from BBB. I responded with the below email to Zett with Quality Craftsmen. I would like to pursue this matter further as Quality Craftsmen is refusing to compensate me for the repairs I had to do.
"No, I will not remove the negative remark, instead I will let BBB know that Quality Craftsmen refused to make it right. In addition to having to repair the leak, I had to replace the Drywall, tile and found out that ****** covered up a live wire. I could have been electrocuted. Also since I was told a Supervisor would be coming to my home, there were additional items I wanted show you that I have issues with, the shower door was poorly installed, it is hard to open and can break at any time, also the towel rack was supposed to be put on the shower door was placed on the wall and not in the wall stud to secure the towel rack, which once again will eventually break. Also 12 inches was removed from the original shower size which makes my shower smaller than what it was before.
I paid for a project of poor quality and Quality Craftsmen is unwilling to make it right.
I will be pursuing this matter further and requesting a full refund".

We appreciate the feedback. We cannot take responsibiloity for damage NOT caused by the project we installed. The leak was clearly caused by a pin hole leak in the "Original Copper Water Pipe". (See the Attached Photo of the Copper Pipe) The plumbing line that leaked was original to the home & NOT installed by Quality Craftsmen. We installed PEX plumbing line which was in good shape & Not leaking. The owner took it upon herself to remove the tub & wall surround, make the repairs to her original copper plumbing. We were not given any indication there was a problem until after the demolition was comnpleted. Then she installed a new tub & tiled surround. We are glad she has a new tub & she was able to solve the pin hole leak in the "Original Copper Plumbing". Pin hole leaks in copper plumbing are becoming a very common problem across the Metro area. Many counties are experiencing the isses associated with copper plumbing. This leak was in No Way associated with the work preformed by Quality Craftsmen. It is Not a covered warranty item. If it were our work that failed, we would happily take responsibility, but this is NOT OUR WORK & THERE IS NO WARRANTY.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:I am dissatisfaction with the response provided by Quality Craftsmen regarding the recent renovation project undertaken by their contractors. The work carried out by their team resulted in a significant leak, for which I had to engage a plumbing company and another contractor, incurring additional costs of $7,000.00 and $2,500.00 respectively. Despite having financed the renovation through Quality Craftsmen, I find it unreasonable that I am now required to bear the financial burden of rectifying their substandard work.
I should not be held responsible for the additional expenses incurred due to the poor workmanship of Quality Craftsmen's contractors. I expect a resolution that acknowledges the inconvenience and financial strain caused by this situation.
I trust that the Better Business Bureau will handle this matter with the appropriate attention and urgency it deserves. I am looking forward to a swift and fair resolution to this issue.
Sincerely,

I was charged $11,580.00 to replace my shower by Quality Craftsmen. Now, I have no water pressure; I cannot take a shower and every time I attempt to contact the representative that sold me the contract, he rejects my calls. No one from Quality Craftsmen has contacted me. All I get is automated emails from a mailbox that does not belong to a real person. I cannot use the shower because no water comes out. I had perfect ware pressure before and now I have no water. Every time I contact *********************, he rejects my phones calls. I did not even receive a follow-up call to se check o the quality of the work or anything.Business response

We contracted with ************** on 3/8/2024 to install a shower. A rush installation was requested by **************. We contacted her by phone on 3/12 to schedule the installation & it was set up for 3/28. On 3/22 the customer called in requesting to confirm the installation on 3/28. We called the customer again on 3/27 to confirm the installation date of 3/28. We installed her shower on 3/28. Yesterday 4/3, we called the customer to confirm the installation went well & all is good. There was no mention of any issue with the shower or water pressure. Only this morning, 14 minutes ago (7:43 AM), were we informed by the Sales Rep that the customer has a concern about the water pressure.
This is the Email response we sent to the customer at 7:45 AM on Wednesday 4/4/2024, after reading her BBB Review at 7:40AM. There was No call into our *********** or the ********************* to report an issue with her shower water pressure. We contacted the customer this morning at 8:20 AM & scheduled a Technician to evaluate the issue on Saturday Morning 4/6 at 9AM .

Good morning,
Thanks for the opportunity to assist with your new shower. We completed the installation of your shower on 3/28. We called yesterday to confirm the installation went well. We were not made aware of any issues with water pressure. We received the BBB Complaint & we are addressing the issue immediately. We are happy to sent a Technician out to evaluate the water issue. It's probably a very easy fix. Can you please text or email a video of the shower head with the water turned on. This will help us evaluate the issue with the water flow. Thanks & expect a call from the ***************** to set the service. Thanks & have a wonderful day.

Quality Craftsmen, LLCCustomer response

Hi,
I spoke to the owner, ************** this morning and explained the following:
When I spoke to ******* on 4/3, I informed her that the cosmetic portion of the installed looked fine but that I had not turned on the shower/water since the install because I wanted to wait 7 days to allow extra time for the adhesives, etc to dry, but that I would turn the water on when I reached home that day on 4/3 to test that portion of the install.
when I arrived home late evening of 4/3 I turned the shower on and no water came from the faucet; there was a loud rumbling noise in the wall behind the newly installed faucet and the faucet is leaking water from around the point where it is attached to the water pipe. I then took a bucket of water, poured it down the shower drain and went downstairs to observe and did observe water still leaking from the shower to my downstairs ceiling, which I was told a newly installed shower would remedy. The reason I contracted to have shower renovation done was because I was told it was the remedy to stop the leaks in my ceiling, directly below the shower.
************** has scheduled a crew to come out on Saturday, 4/6 at 9:00am to tear out the ceiling and found and fix the leak and correct the leaking faucet and water pressure problem.

About a year ago, I noticed water stains in my ceiling in the laundry room just beneath where my upstairs shower is located. I called several plumbers from local companies to come out and diagnose the issue for repairs. All 3 told me it was a leak as a result of a cracked shower. One opened up a small hole in the ceiling of the laundry and put a light in and stated, yep, you desperately need to replace your shower. Short on funds at the time, I simply put a bucket under the hole and allowed the small amount of water to drip in the bucket, keeping a careful watch on it to be sure it didnt cause too much more damage.
After 2 years of saving, I finally decided I had enough money to replace the cracked shower to eliminate the leak. To my surprise, what I thought was going to cost about $5 to $7K, I was given 3 estimates, ranging from $12K to $15K. So, knowing this problem would eventually get worst, I decided I had to go into my personal retirement and retrieve the monies to get the problem solved. After much thought, I decided to go with Quality Craftsmen, mainly because the salesman that came to my home, assured me that they would open up the ceiling in the laundry room, replace any damaged wood, etc., due to the leak, replace the cracked shower, which he also indicated was the cause of the leak, and that when they left my home, the leak would be stopped. Also, because they were local, I decided it was a better decision to go with them. I felt very comfortable with what I was being told and they had no BBB complaints.
Well, upon arrival at my home on 3/28, the contractors told me that there was no need to open the ceiling in the laundry room because they were sure that the replacement of the shower had resolved the issue. I told them I was going to wait 7 days before turning on the shower or using it, because I wanted to make sure everything was completely dry and set to avoid any issues. They said that was good because the longer I waited before using the better for everything to seal.
I was contacted by a rep from Quality Craftsmen on April 3rd to follow-up on the work. At that time, I told ******* that cosmetically, it looked fine but that I had not turned on the water or used the shower because I wanted to wait 7 days before using, but that I was going to turn it on when I arrived home later that evening.
When I arrived home and turned on the shower, there was no water pressure. I also decided to test the leaking as well by pouring a large bucket of water down the drain of the newly installed shower. To my shock, water leaked through the hole in the ceiling into the bucket, just as before the $11,580.00 install. I was very angry and upset. I had gone into my personal retirement funds to pay this enormous amount of money to repair leakage damage and still ended up right back where I was.
My saving ***** is that I went with Quality Craftsmen. I received a phone call from **************, the owner, on the morning of April 4th. After he calmed me down, he scheduled a crew to return to my home for Saturday, April 6th at 9:00am. To my surprise, ************** came with them and he stayed the entire time and oversaw the work. He walked into my home and said to the workers, open up that ceiling and lets find out what the problem is. The water pressure issue was simply trash in the line stopping up the faucet. But he had them open the ceiling to reveal that I had several leaking pipes, not the shower leaking. ************** had his crew repair the pipes at no extra cost to me and they even replaced the area of the ceiling and put the stucco back and everything!
As a 67-year-old retiree, the only question in my mind now is whether I needed a $12K shower or a $500.00 pipe replacement. As a retiree, with limited Social Security Income, this is a valid question for me because I worked really hard to save money so that when I retired, I would have money to live on and to take care of necessary repairs to my home without having to go into debt. $12K is a lot of money and set me back a great deal.
However, I want to thank ************** for coming to my home and taking time from his personal weekend to get to the bottom of the issue and going the extra mile to repair my ceiling and not leaving it open for me to have to spend extra money to fix the hole.
************** is an upstanding, honest, personable businessman and stands behind his companys name and work. And, whether I needed it or not, I love my new shower.
Gret job Quality Craftsmen I highly recommend this company to anyone seeking to replace your shower.
Thank you, **************, youre the best! My ceiling looks great!Initial Complaint

My wife and I where looking to refinance our House and get a few things Fix on the house Roof, Siding etc... So I signed up for Roofing Contractors Had a few calls and estimates and settled for Quality Craftsmen. On 08/12/22 We had our Roof Proposal Stating what would be done on the roof and what was included like shingles Skylight things of that Nature. On 9/1/22 we signed notice of commencement and the total of the roof of the was $7063.26 we put down $2063.26 and would pay the final balance once our roof was done and our refinance was finalized. We where told it would be that they could start as little as 2 weeks once we signed and finalized with the roofers it was push back to at least 6 weeks. We had to wait for the permit to be processed and I received a text from ***************************** on 9/14/22 stating that they could start on 9/15/22. spoke with ***** about supply issues and then told me that they had the right shingles. So supplies where supposed to be drop off Friday 9/30/22. they came and dropped them off the following day 10/1/22 shingles where on the roof while there was a storm coming in a few days as well. Work started on the 10/3/22 and finished the same day. Paid the company an extra $345 dollars for extra wood that was deemed bad and replaced and paid in full on 10/13/22. I had my siding replaced a few weeks after and upon replacing a strip of wood under the drip edge of the roof the company that did my siding said that they where nails that where supposed to be nailed on top of the roof deck but where quite a few nails nailed thru the 1/2 inch wood under the drip edge and the siding company had a hard time removing it upon further inspection I noticed where the 1/2 inch wood was the edge of the wood was rotten and crumbling and had fungus growing and was nailed thru it instead of replacing it. spoke with the manger and he sent someone to my house. Manager was frustrated I told him I would file a complaint he said go AheadBusiness response
