This is a issue from a repair made in 2008 to my roof after a tornado. The roof was supposed to be repair completely. Well the roof was not repaired correctly because the flashing is missing and there has been a water leak in the roof since. I have tired to email and call and left messages. There was a warranty with the roof but no one will call me back or get back in touch. I just want it fixed they just painted over the bad parts after the leak started the other issues started to show. I just need it fixed.Initial Complaint

I paid this contractor over $25,000 for work to be done on my home after a water leak, sense I paid them, and they began work they have given me every excuse as to why they have not completed the work. It has been a year and a half sense they began the work, and they are still not finished l. I have been without flooring, functioning bathrooms as well as cabinets and countertops for months on end. At this point they will not return return my phone calls or messages.Business response

Mr Romeo,
It is upsetting that the previous owners received your monies and never finished the work. I know we have been out to your residence several times to try and find a resolution to your problem. Unfortunatly, without the monies the previous owners received, we can not find a satisfactory solution. We have referred several contractors directly to help reduce the cost and bring you house to a functioning state.

Jan, 2020, storm damage to chimney. Liberty Mutual sent big bear restoration. They damaged hardwood floor in March 2020 while rebuilding fireplace. In May offered settlement of 1/2 cost to refinish or re-polish, our choice. with an estimate for each choice, Chose refinish as finish was damaged to bare wood; wanted to use same company who installed floors. We were shut down for Covid due to our ages. Hoped to achieve repair in September as we had to be completely out of house during repair. Husband became ill in June & was finally dx'ed with need of heart valve replacement and stints. Entered UAB hospital in November 2020. Contracted covid there during recovery and died January 16,2020. I did not return to this area until march 1st and set about taking care of all paper work to do with death and to prepare to sell house. Big bear now says floors need to be replaced, not willing, and I waited too long.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/08/19) */ I am sorry to hear about the death of your husband and Covid 19 has been terrible for so many families. After looking into your complaint I have discovered that we were not paid for the wood flooring nor did we do the work on the flooring. The notes show that we offered to do the repair for you but you decided to go with another contractor for that portion of the project. It has been over a year since we have heard anything until now so unfortunately there is no warranty on work we did not perform. If you would like to contact me directly to further discuss the matter please call our office. Thanks you. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2021/08/23) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The person you employed to rebuild the fireplace and mantle put plastic on the hardwood but only after he had walked in and out on a rainy day. When he took up the plastic the finish on the floor was removed in places and discolored in places. Avery was notified immediately. In May you took responsibility for this. The delay in responding was due to my husbands illness and death. Using our vendor should not have mattered as we were willing to accept the bid from your vendor at half as offered. At the very less I want others to know that you cannot be trusted. I also have contacted my insurance company and asked that you be removed from their preferred vendor list. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2021/08/26) */ Once again I am sorry for your loss. The time frames you are giving are not exactly correct but like I said before there is no warranty for work that we did not perform. Maybe if there had been some communication at all during that time I personally could have looked into the issue. At this point years later I can not ask a subcontractor to look at a concern that had been corrected previously. Good luck and take care.
