I bought a new car from Fivestar Toyota in Milledgeville, GA on ****** ** 2023. In order to obtain a loan, I gave to the dealership all my personal identifying information including, GA Driver's License, SS#, DOB, and my personal credit information, and e-signed on the loan documents. That same day, ******, the dealership used my personal information for an "unknown person" to me to obtain a loan. They used my e-signature LISTING me as a co-signor on a loan in the amount of just over $28,000. I do not know the person attempting to buy as car listing me as a co-signor and nor had knowledge of the unauthorized loan. I found out about the unauthorized (******) loan due to receiving 7 denied lender letters. I called the dealer after receiving the first two lender letters and spoke with **** *. who stated that all my personal information had been "clicked on" because our names ended in a "S" on the unauthorized loan. He said it was an accident and not to worry. I have now received 7 denied lender letters and do not know how many lenders were given my personal identifying information. I do not know if the person who is unknown to me has my personal information as well. I have asked the sales manager to call me. I emailed him as well to asssure me that my personal identity information has not been compromised. To date, *******, the manager of the dealership has NOT bothered to return my call or email. I have since filed a ******* ****** ********* Police report and filed a complaint with the ******* ***** **********. I have been told by the sheriffs department that this is not criminal matter but a civil matter, and will have to hire an attorney. To this date, I have not hired an attorney. I want the dealership manager to contact me with a resolution. I believe I may have been an identity theft victim. Also the dealer added on an appearance warranty and nitrogen tires to my loan which I did not request nor did they disclose to me at the time of my signing my documents. I want my money back from these add ons which were not disclosed to me at the time of signing the loan and contract documents. I don't know what remains for me to do other than let people know of my nightmare experience with this dealership. We live in an era of identity fraud. Practice caution when buying a car from this dealership. They also are doing business under ************* ******** ***. Buyer BEWARE when buying from this dealer.
