I signed two contracts during March of 2023 for a composite deck and two privacy walls to be completed. The demolition of my deck and parts of my privacy walls were done in May of 2023. Elite professionals from the project manager to the numerous subcontractors were not used to complete my project. Substandard work was done. The project manager did not properly oversee the project and came minimum times. Different subcontractors were sent to work on my deck who would quit and per the project manager the initial contractor was deported but I later found out this was not the case. My deck supplies and railings were left out in the grass in my backyard for months and were damaged and the post base came up missing. The project manager is no longer with the S.C.I nor the subcontractors. Subcontractors stated S.C.I failed to pay them and would continually not show up. Deck is not straight or flushed, aluminum posts scratched, aluminum post cap missing, holes left in privacy walls and composite decking cuts short and inaccurate. The craftsmanship is not of quality and there was no pride taken in the completion of my deck. It is makeshift! SCI did not start my job with integrity and never finished it with integrity. All became missing in action and non-responsive until on October 30, 2023, I sent them a certified/return receipt letter informing them to $0 out my balance and close my account. Enough is enough! I signed my contract in March of 2023 and 7 months later, SCI failed to provide me with a quality or even completed project. I told one of SCIs manager ******************* that the quality and workmanship was substandard and not quality and he stated to me and I quote Your deck is not antique furniture. I responded and I quote Quality should never be compromised!

This complaint was filed on November 17 and we received notice of it on 12/4, due to the email on file being incorrect. During that time, we have met with the client to discuss their issues with the project. Unfortunately, the project manager employed by SCI did a very poor job. When we became aware of the issues, the client was at a point where they did not want SCI to complete the punch work. We met the client  on November 29 and committed to complete their project and resolve their issues on 12/7 and 12/8. The client was in agreement, and SCI will meet their commitment. SCI has made personnel changes necessary to provide excellent service and produce superior workmanship, consistent with our mission statement.

      Sincerely,
      *******************- Operations Manager

Contract was signed in April 2023. Deck was torn down in May 2023. SCI has contracted several different sub-contractors to work on deck. None of the sub-contractors work was of quality. The deck as of November 2023 is still not completed and SCI is now asking for remaining payment of deck that is not complete and is stating it will correct any punch items. We have had a subpar Project Manager that is no longer with the company and several sub-contractors that have started work and quit due to payment issues. Deck was installed with screws improperly and composite decking had to be removed. The materials laid in my back. yard for months without removal and company wanted sub-contractors to use damaged materials with s**** holes in it. Nails are popping out of decking as well as decking is not straight or flush. I have had to pay for things out of my pocket to repair the tear down of the deck to correct my home as well as to correct boards under the deck and walls where original deck was attached. I am not in agreement with paying SCI any further payments as this project are not going on seven months and I have not heard from this company to correct issue in months. Holes had not been filled as well threshold is not supported. Also, sub-contractors damaged composite decking and post material.

We had an initial visit from SCI ********************************************* on 2/16/23 for a kitchen remodel. They finally provided a quote on 3/8/23. From there, the vendor they were using for the cabinets (ROC) couldn't get the drawings correct for our island. We had to switch to a different vendor (***) for the cabinets on 3/31/23. We gave our deposit of $9,075 to SCI on 4/3/23. They didn't assign a project manager to our job until 5/5/23. We then received an email from SCI on 6/2/23 stating the measurements they took for our counter tops were off by 23 sq ft and we had to pay an additional $2,300 for their error. At this point, we had been waiting for 4 months to get out kitchen done. We had bought all the appliances and ************** prepped our kitchen for the remodel as they has requested. We were so disappointed with this last error that we decided to cancel the project and get a refund. On 6/5/23, we spoke to one of the managers, *******************, who agreed to send us a refund. It is now 7/6/23 and we still haven't received our refund. This company was a ********* company, but is no longer listed on the ********* website. I wonder why? Stay away from this company!!!

      To Whom it may concern,

Let me first apologize for the late response. This was put on my desk weeks ago and unfortunately it slipped my mind with the whirlwind of business. I understand it is extremally important to get you guys a response. The timeline the customer gave is for the most part correct although the customer let a few things out. During this process, SCI had completed a lot of backend work to get this project ready. At the time we refunded this customer their money, we were 100% ready to start this project immediately. We explained to the customer upfront that they were required to have all items they were to provide such as sinks, light fixtures etc. onsite before we could start in order to avoid delays. We waited roughly 3 weeks for the customer to get these items ready. This was one of the delays. Another delay was the cabinets. We originally quoted cabinets from *************. The customer did not like their cabinet options so we agreed to upgrade them to J&K cabinets. This was a $3,000.00 upgrade that we did not charge the customer extra for. As we got close to starting the project, we found we made an error with the square footage of countertops. The project required more square footage than we originally noted at our first inspection. The additional countertop material would have cost us an additional $2,500.00. We immediately let the customer know we made this error and that we would have to do a change order for the additional square footage. After already taking the hit on the cabinet upgrade, unfortunately we could not afford to take another financial hit on the countertops. Throughout the process there was a ton of communication with the customer. We had the cabinet drawings completed, orders submitted, everything was ready to go. We explain up front to all of our customers that the project start date is usually 6-8 weeks after the customer has paid their deposit, especially on a kitchen. This time is needed for us to get together permit needed info, drawings, material orders etc. This is a normal timeframe for most kitchen contractors at this time. Even though we had customer delays and cabinet changes, we were still on target with the start date. When this customer decided not to proceed due to the change order for the additional countertops,  we spoke with the customer and agreed to give their money back. We issued and sent a check via local post office on 6/7/23. For some reason the mail was delayed and not delivered in the usual timeframe. The customer called upset that they had not yet received the check but unfortunately it was out of our control. We could not get an answer from the post office. We then decided to the best way to handle this would be to cancel the check (we did not charge the customer for the stop payment charge) and have their project manager, *****, hand deliver a check to them to avoid any additional delays. The customer was hand delivered the check on 7/6/23. If you would like any additional information please let me know. you can contact me at ************. Thank you and again, i apologize for the delay.
