Buyer Beware. This company shouldn't complain about inflation. I had a water heater issue. Tech arrived a little before 2PM and was finished a little before 3PM. Just under an hour. After some troubleshooting, the technician narrowed my issue to the thermostat. The technician installed a thermostat previously sent by ************************. When I called I was advised of a $99 consultation. This fee be waived if HendrixAir was used to resolve the issue. Before giving me the cost of the repair, the technician went through a myriad of maintenance plans that ********* offers. Each plan included an HVAC maintenance agreement, of which I currently have. Nevertheless, I asked the technician if he could send me some detailed information on their plans. He said he would. He finally got to my bill. He quoted $531.00 - $50.00 for the old thermostat that he would be returning to the company. The balance due was $481.00. I only paid $629.00 for the water heater. Granted, I was advised when I called that HendrixAir doesn't charge by the hour. I reminded him that all he did was install a thermostat. He told me what I was paying for was; their training, their trucks, their gas, and the electricity at the office. I've never paid an auto repair technician $581 for an hours work and I'm sure their overhead is much higher. The description of the repair is "PE14A Temperature Control System Rejuvenation: Band-Aid - PE14A Temperature Control System Rejuvenation Performance and safety testing". That looks impressive, but in reality all he did was through process of elimination, determine that the issue was the thermostat, replace the thermostat, turn the power to the unit back on and show me that there was no error code. There was no testing. Other than the mention of a $99.00 consultation fee, there are no other prices documented on their website. To include their "maintenance plans". This leaves the technician to arrive at any amount that he or she desires.
