I made an appointment with Dr. *********************** office back in November 2023. I was under the impression they took my Insurance. I verified with them multiple time over the phone if they took my insurance and they lady on the phone said she ran it and I had no copay. Then I arrived at the office I checked with them before the appointment and after and they said the same thing. Then in March 2024 I get a bill for $611.12. I called their office multiple times and left voicemails and received no response. Until I received call back on 06/11/24. I expressed my displeasure and how I am wrongly being charged because of their mistake and she responded We dont take *****, we take OscarCigna+ and I responded saying I know that now, but at the time you guys swore up and down to me it was covered. And all she said was oh I can take $190 off. I dont think I should pay it considering its their fault for misleading me. I am a full time college student whose hours got cut tremendously at work, and I have literally no money and cannot pay for their mistake. I dont have $413 at hand, especially considering I thought it was covered.Business response

We strive to ensure customer satisfaction, and it is evident that we fell short in your case. There are so many insurance companies with multiple plans and options that it can be difficult at times to determine if our practice is in network and out of network with some plans. We go to great lengths to verify insurance information prior to an office visit , there are times we can only go by and verify the information that is provided at the time of service. With any insurance verification there are disclaimers that state the following:

Payment of benefits are subject to all terms, conditions, limitations, and exclusions of the member's contract at time of service.We have documented that once finding out that your claim was not able to be processed, as we are out of network with your particular plan all charges were adjusted to a discounted rate for your visit. Being notified by the complaint letter that you are not in agreeance with our conversation as noted, we will be happy to adjust the remaining balance off your account.
