On September 15, our house's water heater was leaking, bulging out and we needed assistance. We contacted A1 Total plumbing , they said we needed a new water heater and warned us that there was possible water damage to the floor. They referred us to FloodMasters **** On Friday, September 15th I wrote a check for the deductible, which was $1000. The next day on the 16th of September a representative from FloodMasters came to assess the floor and crawl space area. They advised that we air it out and we would definitely need new flooring. They moved in fans and equipment to dry out the floor. Fast forward, two weeks later, On Oct 3th they said that they wanted to examine the floor and saw rot. They intially mentioned that they could either remove the water from the crawl space or by pulling up the floor. Without clear communication of their plan, they came out and started pulling up the floor. They claimed that they pulled it up and were going to make it suitable for the insurance claim's approval. They did this by putting plywood in the area where we filed. Our insurance claim got denied and FloodMasters charged the remaining balance to us, the homeowners. We were ordered to pay this remaining balance within 48 hours of knowing that our claim got denied. If we failed to meet their demands, late fees would be applied and after 2 weeks they would put a lien on our house. I feel this not only violates our rights as homeowners in Georgia but also classifies as a fire/ health hazard being that the floor is incomplete.Initial Complaint

I had FloodMasters come to my home for mitigation work on 5/28. The tech left several machines running in my home (5 blowers and 3 dehumidifiers). He told me it would pull a lot of electricity and would heat up my home. He told me to keep my a/c low. I did. The breakers kept tripping. My home got up to 90 degrees inside. I turned their equipment off after the breakers tripped the third time. I noticed my a/c was no longer working and it was working BEFORE they plugged in all the equipment. I called the next day, Memorial Day, and they someone to the home that had absolutely no electrician training. All he did was check the thermostat, that I had to show him how to take the cover off. He looked at the outside breakers and inside breaker box and that was it. He advised me to call their office first thing Tuesday morning and I did. The lady that answeered, *****, would not even listen to what I was told to do/say. She immediately said thier equipment did not cause the issues UNLESS it caused the a/c to overheat (her words). I said, well, that seems to be what happened. Then she said, "well, it was not due to our equiment and there is nothing we can do about it'. I threatened to call an attorney and she immediately hung up the phone saying, I can nol longer talk to you". I kept calling back and she kept hanging up on me. This AFTER they took my $1000 deductible. I am so upset that they caused this issue and not doing anything to correct it.Initial Complaint

Good sale team and fast talkers, but no follow through once they get the check for the deductible, they was supposed to contact the plumbing company to "guide" them with the plumbers report, I guess that never happened because my claim was denied based on the plumber report, I contacted the plumber and he advised no one ever called him about the plumbers report, so I sent over my denial letter over to the Floodmasters sales guys of course no response, to this day still no reply, a week later the repair company started, first thing they noticed Flood Master never removed the tile that was the cause of the leak, they told me they was trying to "save it", the repair company did the moisture check, and it was 85% moisture behind the tile, the repair company removed the tile and the insulation, the insulation was still a bit wet, now Floodmaster want me to pay the balance of the claim that was denied because they did not ensure the report came out as they said it would, and have some rude lady with no customer service skills calling asking to pay the remainder, she refused to let me talk to anyone else besides her, I would not recommend this company.Initial Complaint

Our basement flooded due to a sewer line clog of some sort and FloodMasters was contacted for restoration services. The sales rep came out immediately, took our $2300 deposit and promised they would handle clean up, removal, and the insurance- sounded great. We were left with sewage water sitting in our basement for days, had the smell and sewer flies up in the main floor. When a technician finally came out (not a crew to resolve quickly) they made an assessment rather than begin cleaning and stopped all work (hadnt even begun to clean the sewer water) until we would pay them extra to resolve some mold that was found. Despite several calls offering to pay and get it cleaned up, they stalled saying they were waiting on the insurance. Id complained about the smell and flies so they finally sent someone to put some deodorant spray and they sent one guy to do the mold work which took several weeks to get done. When they finally came to do the clean up for the sewer water, it was already dried up and several items had been damaged. Ultimately, they left saying the job was done, but nothing was removed as promised. We are left with furniture and things which should have been removed due to the fact that they been sitting in sewer water.Initial Complaint

In 2019, my elderly father's hot water heater leaked. He called insurance the next morning and an employee of Floodmasters showed up. He told my dad he would put fans up and try to find where the water was coming from, but he needed $500. My dad gave him $500 cash. The employee filled out a Work Authorization Invoice and put a large X over all of the specific work description items. At the bottom under Total he wrote $500 and under Paid he wrote $500. Amount Due is blank. My dad called him to pick up his fans. When he did, he didn't present my dad with a new bill. For the past 2-1/2 years, Floodmasters has repeatedly harassed my dad by phone and in writing. I wrote them and explained the $4,488 they claim my dad owes them is for a work ESTIMATE. They threaten him with legal action and now a lien on his home for work they never did! He's 92 and I took him to the ER with heart issues when he got their latest threat. I want the Elder Abuse & Fraud to STOP. They KNOW the work wasn't done!
