** November 2021, we signed a contract with Southern Family Homes (***************************. He gave us a completion date of June 2022. It is now May 2023 and our house is still not finished, sits without ************* and has months of work left. We were lied to by ************ partner *********************, multiple times throughout the build and the work that was completed was not done accurately and was very poor quality. We actually had to call inspectors on ourselves because they refused to fix the front wall that would tremble with just one handThey had children on the site, even riding my sons bicycle through my unfinished house, posing a huge liability risk to **. They removed the dumpster from our land and dumped everything that was in it, in the yard and left it there. ** the end, We decided to terminate the contract after months of zero progress and hire new builders, but during that process we were met with TWO liens that were placed on our home because he wasnt paying the subcontractors when we paid him. ****** expressed on multiple occasions that he was broke, and didnt have any more money, although he was in the midst of building his bar. ****** agreed to sign a contract stating he would pay those liens when funds were available. He has since, opened Southern Social bar in ********, and sold his land to make money. He has no intentions on paying the liens. This caused my interest on my loan to double, and we are having to pay the new builders additional money to correct his mistakes made on our home and pay the liens before we can move forward. It has placed a financial burden on our family.Initial Complaint

We hired Southern Family Homes to build our house in January 2022. To date, we have paid, per the contract, up through sheetrocking being finished. Our house was initially supposed to be completed in August 2022, then with an updated contract signed in February 2023, a new date of April 1, 2023 was given. Currently, our new house at ***************************************************************, has no siding, no doors, and other than rough plumbing, electrical, and HVAC run, nothing has been completed to progress towards sheet rocking the interior. The chimney was left uncapped and water has been soaking the wood on the inside of the fireplace structure since November. Our house sat from Oct 22 to Dec 22 without a roof and wrapping. Multiple attempts have been made to reach builder to discuss the situation including sending a certified email this past Monday to him and the project manager assigned. We either want our house finished up to what we have paid or our money for siding, insulation, and sheetrocking returned.
