I sent my car in to be serviced by Swann and Sons in May of 2018. My 1985 Chevy Caprice needed an engine replacement. I paid $2,600 for the service up front. I was quoted a completion time frame of six weeks. At this point the company was aware that I am an army service member and that I was soon to be stationed overseas in Hawaii for three years. The repair ETA was pushed back several times so much so that the car was not even ready when I left to go to Hawaii in October. He was still working on the car. I informed the shop that I secured a storage spot for the car when it is complete at Fort Stewart. At one point I was told that the car was ready and sent friends to pick it up but it wasn't driveable. He continued to work on it. About a year later I was told it was ready. I made arrangements to have it transported to Hawaii but the car couldn't be shipped because it still was not driveable. **** was told to contact the transportation company once the repairs were complete so that the car could be shipped to Hawaii. **** ***** never contacted me or the company back. So after hearing no info from the shop I ordered Gordon Towing in Savannah to pick up the car, he wouldn't release the vehicle. Immediately after returning home from my tour in Hawaii (October 2021) I contacted **** ***** to pick up my vehicle. At this point I was told that he would not release it until I paid him $3,600 for storing the car during my tour. He never mention storage fees until this point and I had secured military storage for $10 a month so I would have never agreed to pay him more to store the car and I still don't know if the job that I paid him for was ever complete.
