1 starA nightmare from start to finish. Only two people there deserve five stars. *****, a tech on the women's unit and ****, both of them went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. They deserve raises.Review fromToni W

1 starMy daughter has been trying to speak with a patient advocate since she got there and keeps being told that she will see one and then told later on that they're short staffed which I am a nurse so I understand all too well however I also understand that it's not the patient's problem if you are understaffed. I have also left an email and voicemail for the patient advocate. My daughter's needs are not being met her requests are not being addressed and she's being made promises that are not being fulfilled.Review fromFreedmendown N

1 starThis institution commits atrocious acts on a recurring basis. Human and civil rights violations, abuse of mental health parity legislation and process, carries out filing deceptive and fraudulent claims to insurance providers, is aware of the patient abuses happening in their facilities, exploits loopholes to criminalize victims of abuse, fails to protect patients from mistreatment, neglect and abuse. Families, friends, courts, and lawmakers - DO NOT SUBJECT ANY SENTIENT BEING TO THIS BUSINESS - PLEASE!Review fromFlo A

1 starDo not take anyone you love to this facility. The staff is rude, will not answer nor return phone calls, ignore parents and is down right the worst place ever. My 17 year old son was admitted with clinical depression. While in this facility he was roomed with someone who was brought in who had just shot someone. The kid was on something fighting off 6 adult males. My son was scared being housed with such an individual. Then the staff took it upon themselves to vaccinate my son against my refusal for the the vaccination. They had no clue of any reactions he has had or why I told them no to the vaccination... so if you are really concerned and care about your love one avoid this place at all cost.Review fromAlex M

1 starI was admitted here almost a year ago for a suicide attempt. The staff inpatient and outpatient shame people who are hyper sexual due to trauma, while inpatient I was told my eating disorder was invalid because i would binge eat, and one of the staff members began flirting with the girls in Cottage A. I felt less safe in there than I did when I was attempting suicide. I went in suicidal and came out suicidal and homicidal. My mania and depression worsened for the time i was put there. It put strains on family and friendships because of how much stress I was put through. Honestly, f*ck Ridgeview, its not treatment its torture. For the love of the gods, dont send your loved ones here, it will hurt so much more than it will help.Review fromBeverly R

1 starMy son was admitted to Ridgeview Institute (Monroe). Besides the staff not being helpful in the intake process and discussing private patient info in vestibule and main area, my son was physically attacked by staff members and slammed into ground twice, thrown into room, threatened verbally with intramuscular sedation needles, and sedated against his will----all because the staff members thought he moved too slow to go to his room. The clinicians, social workers, staff, psychiatrist did not tell me( parent of minor) and just verbally apologized and discharged him early, indicating that the assault on my child was traumatizing. I was notified of incident by my son after phone privileges were revoked. I was refused an incident report, protocol method by employee handbook, examination record after injury, list of staff on unit, patient advocate, and was told I had to wait for medical records. The staff indicated there was a tape that was reviewed, and my son was at no fault. The raw video of staff assaulting my son was not given or shown to me. Ridgeview Institute ****** could've killed my child during his stay there with the physical assault of slamming him into hard ground twice, and four staff sitting on his chest. I later found out verbally what the sedative was that they gave him. I had to take my child myself to a physician to document his injuries and make sure he was physically not in immediate trauma/emergency as the staff did not examine him. I beg of you to anyone that is listening, please do NOT admit your child here. ****** the history of this facility and look up the multiple incidents that occurred here-most recently two people dying by suicide as staff members failed to watch patients. Make complaints to the ***************** GA ********** of ******* GA Nursing Boards, Advocacy groups, Georgia ************************* and on and on. Please do not take your loved ones there. This is not treatment. This is torture for patients to be there.Review fromSamara F

1 starThis facility mentally and emotionally abused my transgender daughter. ******************* is the program director at this facility. I did not get a call back when I brought my concerns to his attention. They intentionally used the wrong pronouns and dead named her. When I brought this to the attention of *********************** the case manger, she ignored my concerns. She said I doubt that is happening. My daughter called me daily with concerns for her safety. I was gaslit and stonewalled. This facility is ran by incompetent staff that will not listen. The doctors are shady and the so-called case managers are shady. They only care about revenue and to h*** with getting the patients stable. They will not communicate with the family or the patients. My daughter is traumatized at what happened to her there. I would never recommend a facility like this one to anyone! They need to be shut down!Review fromChelsea W

1 starI walked out of this horrid institution with more ptsd, anxiety and depression than I walked in with. The staff seriously needs sensitivity training or maybe shouldn't work in a place where people need help, and you see them as less than. Maybe 1 or ******* were decent and treated patients half human. The dehumanizing all patients went through was deplorable. The techs would mock and laugh at patients. Didn't even know how to accurately assist someone having a seizure?! As someone who went into this place wanting to die, the whole place made you want to die more. The patients were the only ones who helped eachother. God forbid you braided someone's hair. I was put on the acute patients floor for some ****** up reason. They had me with a girl who tried to kill her family. I got maybe 4 hours of sleep a night. The techs on the acute floor were even worse. It's like we were burdens to them. It felt like prison. I wasn't taken to my room until 11 or midnight but woken up at 6. I couldn't sleep due to severe anxiety. I was not g8ven my anxiety medication that my own personal doctor prescribed me. They couldn't find my medication at discharge. I overheard a tech mocking a patient "you're so mean, you're so mean" while laughing. I voluntarily checked myself in, but I wasn't able to check myself out???????? All mental health facilities need to be looked into. Especially this place.Review fromkai m

1 starI got admitted into Ridgeview on my 19th birthday for an attempt. after being transferred from the hospital to Ridgeview in Monroe (which was 3 hours from my house. the smyrna one was 20 minutes.) i waited in this lobby area for 6 hours. we were given no food. no water. no information. just me & this other man, waiting. finally they brought us up & from the start i had an awful experience with the staff. they were extremely disrespectful & treated all of the patients as if they were crazy. none of them had compassion. when you misbehave they sedate you. i saw it happen to so many other patients so i kept my mouth shut. there was no actual treatment while i was there. we watched TV. all day long. not one single therapy session while i was in there for 10 days. also yeah, 10 days?! i was under the impression i was going into a ************************************************************************* how they keep you as long as they can for insurance money. i got a UTI while i was there because we could never use the bathroom. the doors were always locked and when i would ask the nurses they would ignore me. didnt even treat us like we were human beings. this place needs to be shut down, it is shocking this place is still up & running. do better. have respect for other human beings.
