I had an appointment with them on June 18th. I scheduled the appointment and on the phone I was told that my braces removal would be free. Upon arrival I was told that it was $300 and I was only given the option for the more expensive retainer. I also had insurance, but the worker would not even look at my insurance card. I now know that my retainer could have been partially covered through my insurance, but she failed to even look. I called corporate and they told me that there was an option for the braces to be taken off for free if there was a financial hardship, which I am having. I was not offered that option either. I told corporate everything that had happened and she said it was up to the location if they charge or not, so I was given no help, and I was charged for my visit, unable to use my insurance and only have offered the more expensive retainer. I let the lady know I was not prepared to pay for it several times and she still did not offer the other options that they had. I am a black woman and I feel like I was experiencing discrimination. I was also told that a doctor would look at my teeth after my braces were removed, but the doctor never got around to me and after a while I had to go because I had another appointment to get to. I paid $600 that I didnt know I had to pay and wasnt even seen by a doctor to make sure my teeth were ok. I am livid because I am not working at the moment and I have a small child so I had to pay for childcare and pay $300 more dollars than I expected when I have relay good insurance that was not utilized. I was told to call them myself and check to see if they covered services 45 minutes after my appointment was supposed to begin. On top of that, they could not take my payment so that pushed my appointment back another 20 minutes. I am so disappointed and aggravated. *** never had a problem at any other locations, but this one really made me feel like they did not care nor have my best interest.
