My ******* 4K ** was picked up by employees of ******************** on 9/24/2022 and I was charged $135 for a diagnostic fee. Some time later the repair manager called me and stated that a replacement board was going to be needed and that the charge would be around $500. Once the repair was completed I was charged $485 (on 10/11/2022 and the ** was returned in working condition with a 30 day warranty on the repairs.After the ** had been returned we used it normally for about 10 days when a very similar problem caused 100% malfunction. Since this was within the 30 day warranty period we requested ******************** to pick up and repair the ** again. Within a few days they picked up the **, but after several days and repeated contact attempts they admitted that they could not source a replacement part. This continued for a few weeks with contact from the company becoming less and less often.Eventually, we received a single email on 1/17/2022 from the company stating that the proprietor had died, the company was going out of business, and that they would ensure that all **s would be returned to their owners. An email address to write to was provided. After writing to the email address no reply was issued, and a call to the prior service manager was answered with, "I don't work for them any more."Since then there has been no reply to any of my inquiries, and both the broken ** and my money have been lost, apparently forever. Of course the $135 diagnostic fee was earned by the company, but neither the broken ** nor the $485 repair charge have been produced.
