6 months ago we took car to Mavis, *************************. Car leaking. ***** the manager told us we needed a new waterpump and radiater, total $2000. Within a month later, car broke down, had towed to Mavis, and they said needed a new alternator and battery, another $1000. Ever since new alternator and radiator, car has squeaking noise when ignition is on, got louder and louder. We had a retired mechanic friend of ours look at it, ALL DOCUMENTATION FROM REPUTABLE COMPANY, and told us it is the serpentine belt slipping or improer tension, and needs immediate repair. In conclusion, we NEVER NEEDED the aprox $3000 of work they did on last 2 big jobs. WHY WAS THE **** or pullys NOT INSPECTED, AS it would cause the water pump, radiator, alternater and battery all to die. And had our mechanic not seen this, the problem would end up with many more thousands, it may just need the belt or pulley replaced, BOTH $200 AT *** and hour job. I might add that ***** the manager of store was very nice and worked with us on negotiations of prices, BUT WE NEVER NEEDED ALL OF THAT REPLACED, had they done the job correctly. The car is a black, 2008 RX350 that has been meticulously maintained by mechanic shop that retired, just recently. We are seeking not only the belt or pulley replaced, but a reimbursement refund of $1500, half of our unessasary payment. This was pure negligience on the part of Mavis. If not voluntarily, will file law suit, which will cost us nothing, as entire family are lawyers and judges, all we pay is filing fees, and Mavis would have to pay all court and attorney fees, as is a slam dunk and proven case. Thank you.

Transaction Date: Dec. 12, 2023. Amount Paid: $1099. I went into Mavis tires because my car was making sounds on the left rear. When I got into the store I informed them of the issue I was having and they took my car to check the problem. The informed me that the issue was my brake, brake calipers, and rotors needs to be changed. I told them that I recently changed my brake pad within a week so I dont understand why it will be bad but they said it was. I agreed to the repair request. Took out lease from flexshopper, picked up my car but the noise was still there. I called and went back to the store but they said they cant refund me because they already made the changes. The reason I am filing this complaint is because the actual issue of my car cost $1500 and I wasted $1099 on issues that didnt exist with my car.

On 12/30/2023 I went to the mavis located at, *********************************************************, to have installed the 4 tires of my 2015 ****** camry. But it turns out that they damaged something in the psi sensors and now they do not read the pressure. I went three times to have it fixed and they say that they did not touch the sensors, but what a coincidence that before they changed the wheels everything was working perfectly. They do not want to take responsibility for the damage caused to my property.

I recently came to get my brakes checked. I told that my tire rods and struts need to be changed. My truck ran well for 2 days. Now the brakes are extremely loud. I literally just paid over $600 to get these struts done after just getting my breaks changes in Dec 2022. I need my breaks fixed and I need my money back for the work that was not done properly.

      Business response

      10/19/2023

Ms ** recently came in and had work done. Front Struts brakes and tie rod ends were replaced. It has been recommended on kore than one occasion that Ms ** is in need of rear struts and brakes as that is where the noise is coming from.

We appreciate Ms. **** business and will gladly redo replace any work that isn't satisfactory.

My vehicle was taken to Mavis on May 20, to replace two tires on the vehicle and get an alignment. When these jobs were completed, I could tell that the alignment was very tight. The slightest movement of the steering wheel would make the vehicle jerk whichever way the steering wheel was moved. Over the course of the next week and a half, there was a rapid deterioration of the steering and front suspension. On Tuesday, June 6th, I noticed that when I turned the steering wheel, there was a creaking sound coming from the front right of the car. I returned with the car to Mavis Thursday, June 8th. I stated my concerns with the vehicle and the work that they performed on May 20. They said to talk to the store manager about my concerns. In talking with the manager, ******, on June 10th, over the phone, she talked over me, was aggressive, and outright dismissed me. I have only attempted to contact this service center once since June 10th, and I have done so through their website. In addition to the issues with my vehicle, I witnessed terrible customer service and terrifying actions by their employees when I brought my car back to the shop on June 8th. There was no one in the customer service center when I entered the building and when I did speak to someone, it was a mechanic that was unable to run intake on my vehicle. The man that was supposed to be working at the desk was just hanging out with his buddies in the shop and did not enter the lobby the entire 30 mins that I was on the premises. They also had a mechanic that was upset at his working conditions. He expressed this by throwing things at the window of the customer waiting area, yelling, and swearing about how bad the working environment was. Currently, I don't have my vehicle in working condition because of the poor work done at this service center. I was scared for my safety while at this facility. I have made attempts to contact their customer service, but I have not received a reply from them.

After seeing fluid leaking from my vehicle, I went to the Mavis Tires and Breaks location at ***************************** to have the vehicle inspected for the problem. The vehicle was not inspected until the next day where I was told the problem (oil pan leak and broken radiator hose and coolant leak. After being told it would cost $1962 to fix, I gave confirmation verbally to proceed with fixing the issues. Mavis had my car for 1 month (Sunday May 1 to Saturday May 28). During this time, my husband and I called Mavis over 20 times. We were told three different times that they did not have the correct parts to fix my vehicle, which were causing the delay in repair. We were told two different times that they had a mechanic and assistant quit, which required my vehicle to be transferred to another location to be fixed. Throughout all of these communications, Mavis reached out directly twice to share updates. All information obtained about my vehicle came from us calling them. Their communication and customer service was inadequate, to say the least. After a month without a car, my car was returned 2 days after it was promised, 2 days after I had paid for the services. Once I got in my car and after driving about 7 minutes, the light came on indicating that the car was out off coolant. I came back home, put coolant in the vehicle to find it leaked straight through. Not only is my vehicle not fixed, but the problem is worse as the coolant fluid leaks straight through and the previous issue was a slow leak.I have paid $1962.97 to Mavis. I want my money back. They have not fixed my vehicle, they have described work on the invoice that was not done or done incorrectly/poorly.

In December of 2021 I took my car to mavis tire. I had work done (which they held my car for a week and then told me it would be done to close the shop early when I went to get it). Once it was finally ready, the car was not working properly as I drove off. They had not properly reattached a piece in the *** system. I was told by that location they could not fix the damage they had done and needed to go to another location. I went to the other mavis (who again told me my car was ready and when I got there they told me the part hadnt even arrived yet- took another week) where they then told me they could not fix the issue either and that it needed to be done by a ***** dealer. I asked if they would provide payment for the work since they damaged my vehicle and they said yes. I took my car to ***** and received a quote from them regarding the cost of labor and parts. I went to the original mavis on 1/25/22 asking who I should send the quote to. The manager gave me his information and I emailed it over. It took him a week to submit it. On 2/8/22 I had not heard anything so I called the customer service line to follow up. They said there was no claim history and asked me to send it to a different email. I did that and asked for confirmation that it was received. No Confirmation and on 2/10/22 I sent a follow up. Still no confirmation. I then contacted them again on 2/11/22 at customer service. They said it was received and a manager would reach out. I gave them a chance to contact me but nothing. On 2/22/22 I contacted customer service again to get status and they said there was no claim. I went through the email with the staff member. She said the had uploaded it now and then told me the manager was on a zoom call and would call me later. That did not happen.
