Took my Nissan Frontier with specific issue. Rather than them looking at the known issue, they did everything but that and then said it would be more money to look at the issue we took the truck in for.

On April 1st, 2024 my ******** entered onto the Valdosta Nissan car lot. Upon arrival, we met a salesman by the name of ****. We advised **** that we were just looking around their inventory just to get an idea of their cars. **** insisted we follow him to his office, where he'd be able to better assist my family. He asked us for a couple of details, which we reluctantly provided after his assurance that this is just for his storage. Both my ******** overemphansized that we desired no credit inquiries whatsoever. **** then took us on a test drive, we didn't like the vehicle. **** once again, insisted we return to his office so that he can speak with his manager about finding us a better vehicle. While sitting awaiting **** to return, my wife gets a hard inquiry on her credit from the dealer. **** then returns, and we let him know that they're running her credit even though we told them multiple times not to. **** gave us a very disingenuous response, saying he'd advised his manager not to but she did anyways. **** then offers us a few other cars and we decide to leave and return as it was getting late. My wife and I returned the next day and were met by ****. We told **** we'd like to speak with the manager about the illegal inquiry. **** then told us, he advised **** the day prior to not inquire on credit if we expressly told him not to. **** took us to the manager, and explained to the manager our issue. We left the issue with the manager for about 5-10 minutes and were brought back to his office. He then admitted the company inquired on our credit without our express permission, no credit application was ever signed. Our credit has been severely effected by this illegal inquiry which now makes it difficult for us to obtain approval anywhere else. We would like the company to remedy this by giving us a fair deal on a vehicle within our parameters. Due to our credit already being impacted, we'd like them to finish the job.

We decided to give Valdosta Nissan a third chance due to a complete change in management and staff. However, it turned out to be a jokea shady business. The vehicles had incorrect window stickers, leading to inaccurate prices. The salesman insisted on test drives but refused to disclose prices. Our credit was unnecessarily checked over twelve times in one week. They kept us at the dealership for a whole day, only to mention the owner's connections in the bank. They attempted to push us into the most expensive truck, negatively impacting our credit scores. Another dealer advised us to lock our credit accounts due to excessive inquiries. To add to the absurdity, the new sales manager, *****, suggested we stop paying on our Nissan vehicle and let it get repossessed, sharing his own credit history. Despite attempts to rectify the situation, we've decided never to return. I'll caution others against this place indefinitely.

Payment of total payment of vehicle replacement and cost of selling vehicle under Nissan’s Oil For Life care

      Customer response

      01/13/2023

The Problem with Valdosta Nissan is that I bought an extended 4 year warranty for the Audi A5 I bought from them, and when I needed to use it, I found out that the warranty was erroneously filed with the wrong years on it...in other words, my 4 year paid extended warranty was only good for a month.  I paid roughly $3200 for the 4 year warranty.  But when I needed to use it and called to see what was covered, the Saleswoman that sold us the car and warranty said the warranty was now good for one month.  She told us (my wife and I) that it needed to be changed to the correct 4 year span, but could not because the third party manager of the extended warranty would not honor the change.  The big reason for the call to find out about what the warranty covered was because of an oil issue with the vehicle.  Valdosta Nissan does all of my oil changes and inspections on my Audi, not me.  I took the Audi when I received a low oil light and instructed me to take the Audi to the dealership for inspection.  I did this twice...took it in, Valdosta Nissan service added oil, and said it was good to go.  After the second time, service representative recommended me to take the Audi to an Audi dealership.  I received a low oil light message that said not to drive it anymore and to take it to a dealership ASAP.   So I called Jacksonville Audi and scheduled an inspection on this oil issue.  I towed the car on a trailer and delivered it to the service department in Jacksonville.  The next thing I received were repairs and labor costs dealing with the oil issue.  Finally, after roughly 3 weeks of digging and looking deeper into the engine, the service manager said the engine was beyond repair due to the oil pump that was damaged and that no oil was being pumped through the engine...thus, an engine swap was needed.  The approximate cost was $20,000 not including labor, but already $11,000 labor and other repairs were already performed.  Now, I was looking at a minimum of $31,000 cost plus the engine swap with labor, parts, and taxes facing me.  My only recourse at this point was to see if they could use this Audi as trade in for another car in the lot since they knew the issues with it and made my decision not to sell it to a potential buyer-- out of the question.  Blue Book Value was close to $17,000 but Jacksonville Audi only would take $10,000 if I trade it in for one on the lot.  I was now too deep into the service cost and a pickle on what to do with the Audi A5, so I received a special sale on another Pre-owned Audi.  I had very little recourse on my options, so I decided to spend $30,000 more than i wanted while not even covering what I still owed on the Audi A5.  After 5 weeks of trying to make sense of this vehicle, I walked away incredibly unsatisfied and enraged on what just happened that sprang from the original error made on the extended warranty.  I thought hard on getting a lawyer with all of this but I knew I had relied on the saleswoman to print out the correct years on the contract I did sign.  These car contracts are rapidly presented to us consumers with the understanding that what the saleswoman had promised and verbally acknowledged and what was on the contract were the same. Yes, we were able to get the warranty amount back, but the damaged to the engine was already done.  How was it that I take the Audi for Oil service and all of a sudden the motor had been damaged and the warranty was void.  That scenario has caused me tens of thousands of dollars--$3200 vs ~$60,000.  I ask for Valdosta Nissan to pay me $60,000 for their mistake that has plagued my family for 4 months.  This will put me even with their mistake.  I should ask for more but $60,000 will suffice.

We purchased this vehicle with a temporary tag with the understanding that a regular plate would be issued before the temp tag runs out. The tag has run out and no one will talk to me about what to do to get the Florida tag that we paid the dealership for. I can not drive my new car now as the temp tag has run out as of October 29, 2021. We call the dealership to find out it no one is available to talk to us or call us back? The dealership has already received their money from the bank. I just want to be able to drive my new car!
