I paid for a transmission to be put in my 1999 ***** in the summer of 2021. They put in the transmission but it was still slipping. I took it back in may of 2022 under warranty to be serviced for a new transmission. They have had my car ever since and when I reach out through text, the owners son, Logan says it will be done within a week. He has done this several times. My dad has also been going up there the last couple of months and no changes have been done to the car.Initial Complaint

Hello i drove my 2014 Nissan ****** SR to Houston Automotive Transmissions on October 4,2023 ***** ** *** ******* **** ******* **** ****** ******* ******* ******* am writing to let you know that I drove my car to this shop & parked it in a parking spot as i was told from Logan s****** to drop it off at the shop as i did.And I was told to give my key to a worker name Bobby which i did. Then Logan & I begin communicating thru texting about my car like what he thinks my car needs& the price of the things etc.How ever I would drive there a few days a week & see my car parked in the same spot I left it at I then begin to wonder if this a good for my car to be at i begin texting Logan asking him did you get a chance to Diagnose my car yet a few times he had some different excuses for my car sitting there so finally he text me one day & stated that my car needs a Body value& a converter and I ask what is that Then he explain Basically that i need a Transmissions I told him that I really dont think it because my car still drives but i also said im not a mechanic. So with that being said I then begin discussing the price or a Transmission & how much would every thing cost me out the door he told me he would charge me $3,000 out the door all this was thru a Text.Again all this was said but my car was still in the same spot I begin texting & even go to the shop asking Logan when would the car be ready he then stated he was waiting for a pully& the next time he said he was waiting on a speed sensor and the last time he told me he only had a half hour left on my car to finish my car up then it will be ready little do he know i was coming to the shop seeing my car parked in the same spot i left it at from day one.So many Red Flags was coming up so I really start asking & telling Logan look I really need my car back soon so after that last visit about two days after he said yes its done i went there& I ask if i could test drive it first before I pay him$3,000 he stated to me to please drive like a old lady cause the Transmission that he put in has to be broken in about 500 miles before it kicks in &if i drive to fast it will mess it up I really begin to think that he did not put no Transmission in my car I had never ever heard of nothing like this.So I said ok. But i said this sounds really crazy I knew then that he did not put no Transmission in my car saying all this stuff so i drove around the corner to a gas station & filled my gas tank up then I continue my drive on some streets& the car was driving the same way as when i drop it off I then got on the highway it was driving weird and not like it should as I exit off it cut off & i hurry up and started it back up and headed back to the shop& i went inside and gave Logan the key and I said you most certainly did not put a Transmission in my car he started curse& saying disrespectful things in front of my *** **** old Daughter I said i really see how you are how dare you Disrespect me in front of my baby I told him you angry because you know i am telling you the truth& at that time he never showed me no invoice no recite either when i was in the office Also i left because of the way he he was talking and handling the situation in front of my baby so i left the Business. Logan started texting me saying if i dont pay him $3,000 by **** ** or ***** he was going to go to the Department of motor vehicle and start a Abandonment process& I told Logan you know that you never put no Transmission in my car and you can do what ever you like & I will not be paying you nothing for something that you never did. He still was texting me daily saying rude crazy things.I told him to please stop texting me. Then he text me again on November 9,2023 saying he went to the tag office to start the paper work process for a abandoned car .Little did he know I started my research on him and i found out that he has several court Cases for this same type of stuff the only thing is different is that i had not paid up front i am sure he would of ask me to pay up front but he knows that he is in court already for this. How ever i went up to the Business on November13,2023 and saw my car inside the bay in the air for the first time the front tires was off i was not sure to what he was doing ? but then i became very concern especially i had read some of the stories on the news that Logan had even Spray Painted a customer Transmission to make it seem like he put anew one in & he has taken parts out of people cars too He is known to do evil things to customers and has no trust in the Community what so ever at this time Logan needs to just return my car back to me so i can take it to a Real mechanic place thats gone be honest to Customers This has been very stressful& a Living Nightmare for my family.Initial Complaint

We don’t have the capability to finish the job. We repaired his original repair (transmission rebuild) within a week to find out he had a broken rear end also. We don’t normally repair rear ends but since it was at the shop I told him we could. At this point were not able to fix his rear end in his desired time frame so we are offering to refund his money . He will not accept a refund. He has threatened multiple people at our shop and we don’t want to continue doing business with him. A refund has been offered for the work we can not complete. We are not turning down fixing his vehicle by no means , we just can not fix it in his desired time frame and it seems easier to just refund him and let someone else deal with him.Initial Complaint

I paid $2,950 to Houston transmission to rebuild my transmission and put in a new steering column on my 1993 ***** ******** truck on ***** *** 2022 and as of today ******** *** 2023 it is still not ready I have been promised time and time again it is almost ready and every time it isn’t.It’s been a constant struggle to even obtain any communication with this shop and any information on it and I have not been able to talk to anyone on phone or in person cause either nobody answers or they can’t tell me when someone will be there at the shop. I’m very frustrated with this company and how they conduct business. I was told it would be a simple job to get done. I’m to the point I either want my truck back in good running condition with a rebuilt transmission and new steering column or I want a full refund of my money so I can get somebody that knows how to fix it correctly and in a timely manner. I have attached my whole conversation that has happened between me and this shopBusiness Response

We paid $2500 up front to have the transmission in our van replaced. I paid for it on October XX XXXX. After a few months, we checked on the van and they hadn't started work on it, so we took the van back and asked for a refund. They began to make excuses for why they couldn't refund us, and still haven't given us a refund.Business Response

I called Houston Automotive & Transmission on ********** about having my transmission rebuilt in my 2007 Super Duty Ford f-250 crew cab pickup truck. Spoke with Logan S****** and He told me they could have the Transmission rebuilt and ready to pick up on Thursday September 2, 2021 before the close of business if I could Drop off truck and pay the $ 3,000.00 Quote for the Transmission Rebuild and rear main seal on the motor replaced before he closed for the day on **********. I dropped off the truck and paid him that day. I never heard from Logan about the status of my truck and when I checked the business lot my truck had still not been touched by anyone to do the rebuild on Tuesday *********** After many phone calls that went unanswered or if answered I was lied to as to when the work would be started or done. Was told they ordered a new rebuilt transmission, and it was the wrong one for the truck when it came in. Next Logan told me the 2nd transmission they had ordered, and install was bad so they removed it and ordered a Rebuilt/Remanufactured Transmission from **** ***** *******. Why they did not rebuild the original transmission in my truck as they were contracted to do and paid up front Logan told me it was too time consuming to rebuild the transmission. Many times I was lied to as I was told I could pick up the completed truck on Friday ********* ********* ********* ********* ******** to no avail on this date I told Logan my truck would be picked up on 10/15/21 by tow truck if it was not repaired. The transmission they installed was in worse condition than the original. Cracked case, front seal leak, rear main seal to motor still leaking, loose bolts or not right ones, downshifts unexpectedly, and once transmission warms up it starts to slip gears. On ********** Logan agreed to put a new rebuilt transmission in the truck under the warranty that expires on **********. Was told he ordered the transmission ********** Still the same more Lies and no contact.Initial Complaint

We have paid 4K for a transmission repair over 75 days ago. The car is now locked away in the shop where we are not able to reach our vehicle to tow it away. This is not a place that is honest enough to honor the agreement to repair a vehicle after taking possession of the car and receiving the full payment. The owner refuses to answer calls, our number is now blocked, and he is not in the shop. He has been sick, busy or a number of excuses as to why the car hasn't been repaired. Each time we get a story that it will be ready in 3 days, then nothing happens. The police say it's a civil suit so they cannot do anything. Read the many reviews here and on google and you will see this is a pattern.Business Response

On Aug ** my son and I tookhis auto, a 2012 ********** to Houston Auto & Trans. in Warner Robins for repair. Speaking to Mr Logon S******, we were told the repair would take about 1 week, and would be ready that friday. After continously checking with him , he repeadly said the vehicle would be ready thecoming friday. On aug ** Mr S****** said he would need half the payment, 2,000 dollars or allof it before he would be able to continue with trans. removal and replacement. On that day, I paid Mr. S****** $4,000 with ck.# ****, which was cashed within 1/2 hour. Since that day , we have contacted Mr S****** and were promised the vehicle would be repaired and ready for pick up by friday each week since. To this day I see no progress on vehicle.Initial Complaint

October 2021 I drove my business van to Houston Automotive to have it diagnosed. The owner stated it needed a new transmission and that he could have it done in 2 weeks. I left the van there, he asked for payment in full up front. Two months goes by and the van is not ready. The new transmission got installed and now the van does not drive, he didn't know what was wrong with it so he got it towed to a different repair shop and said he would pay for whatever was wrong with it but I ended up having to pay that shop because Houston Auto said it wasn't their fault. That shop said the torque converter was bad and needs to be replaced so the van goes back to Houston Auto for a 5 hour job and it's been there ever since with the owner giving me every excuse in the book not to fix my van. My van has been in his possession for 9 months for transmission work and I just want my van fixed so I don't have to deal with his shop anymore. I do not and will not recommend anyone to use his shop. He has one person working and 30 vehicles parked around his location waiting to get their vehicles back. He doesn't return calls or respond to messages and he is never at his shop.Initial Complaint

On May ***** 2022 I had my 2012 *** ***** ** towed to Houston Automotive and Transmission Center to have the vehicle diagnosed and repaired. Initially, I spoke with Mr. ***** ******* thru text and phone calls before having the car delivered to his shop. I was told then that if the transmission was an issue that it would only take 2-3 days and that he probably already had a rebuilt transmission on the shelf so it wouldn't be a problem to do the work. Upon arrival at his shop with the vehicle on May ***** 2022 Mr. ******* was not there and I found it odd that no one was working in the shop either. I spoke with the dispatcher for the tow service who shares space with Houston Automotive and she contacted Mr. ******* on my behalf. She told me that he was at lunch and was on a parts run and it would be several hours before he returned. Mr. ******* contacted me that afternoon to confirm that the transmission was the issue and that it would need to be rebuilt, and asked that I pay before he performed any work. I arrived the next morning (May *** as soon as they opened and paid Mr. ******* $3500 to rebuild the transmission and at that point, he told me he would have it done that week. I have contacted Mr. ******* several times since then thru text message and every time he tells me it will be a couple of days and that he would be done that week. At one point he told me he would have my vehicle by the end of the week but instead, he went on vacation and would not return my text messages. I have gone by Houston Automotive several times and my vehicle is parked in the same spot since the day that I had it dropped off. On June **** my wife and I sent Mr. ******* and Houston Automotive and Transmission a Demand letter via certified mail which he received and signed for on June ***** I have to text Mr. ******* several times before he will respond and when he does it is the same message of it will be 2-3 days.
