I had a bridge done 2/24/2021. I received a bill from Hickory Commons Dental 11/2022 advising I owed an additional $1802 for the procedure. I paid $1300 at the time of the bridge as that is the amount my dental insurance would not pay. They filed the claim timely but did not provide extraction dates for missing teeth. The information was requested by my insurance company to Hickory Commons Dental on 4/26/2021, 10/5/2021, 2/9/2022 and 5/6/2022. Since the information was not provided the claim was denied. We were not notified by Hickory Commons that additional information was required to process the claim. I filed with the ***********************************. The complaint was closed advising the insurance company did not receive the information from Hickory Commons so they are not liable for payment of the claim. I feel it is very bad business and unethical to come after me for the $1802 that would have been paid had they provided the requested information to the insurance company or contacted us for the information if they did not have access to it. To receive a bill for a procedure done over 2 years ago, that we thought was paid is completely unfair. I have my insurance companies notes that show each time they tried to get the information from Hickory Commons. Hickory Commons is now threatening to send the bill to collections. A copy of the Complaint and my insurance companies' response has been uploaded for your review. From what I hear this is a common problem with this office. I will research legal remedies if not resolved. Thank you for your time.
