On Aug. 06, 20**, I was rear ended at a red light police report #**-303782. Took my vehicle to Island Auto Body for repairs (USAA Insurance claim #************) Aug. 11, 20**, the owner agreed h*** order a new bumper and paint and itll take 2 weeks. A month and 2 weeks later nothing was done till I kept coming to the shop checking on the status because I wasnt getting a status update from the owner that was never at the shop cause he was dealing with other legal issues that I just found out about and the employee where covering for him and saying they dont know the status yet they the ones working on my car. Was told before Labor Day that parts finally came and my vehicle was in the paint booth, I went to the shop to check the status and seen that there wasnt any new parts and that they tried to repair the old parts and slapped them on my vehicle but in the process ruined the old parts and many other parts on my vehicle. They painted my vehicle and it looks like a 5 year old painted it. Supplement/invoice of $4,838.16 was for labor/parts/paint and I paid $2,770.00 which $1970 (rounded off) was from insurance and the other $800 was for paint that I paid out of pocket to the shop. Shop said they was in contact with my insurance and local adjuster for the rest of the payment not knowing that I was constantly in contact with my insurance which told me they never received anything from Island auto body. Because of that I couldnt get a extension on my rental and ended up paying out of pocket for over 2 weeks which aint cheap. So IAB had my vehicle for over a month and half on what was suppose to be a 2 week job and wouldnt release my vehicle till payment was received. Police report **-358003 Aug. 15, 20**, I went to retrieve my vehicle after insurance recommended taking my car to another shop to complete repairs. I have my vehicle now and currently looking for a new repair shop. Theres so many issues with my vehicle now then there was before I dropped it off.

Outcome or resolution would be for Island Auto Body to refund the $2,770.16 of the $4,838.16 they charged me for. Reimbursement on rental cars & lyft that Im paying for to do my daily activities. Also to pay for the repairs on damages theyve done that wasnt there prior to dropping vehicle off. Shop also added 70+ miles meaning they was using my vehicle inside the month and half they had my car. If else fails, just give me the current value of the vehicle because they ruined it.

My husband contacted *** (owner of island autobody) to do a paint job on our car. Originally he quoted us 5k to do it but eventually we added the caliper to get painted so it became 6k total. Paid 6k. He told us itll take about 2 weeks to get it done. Dropped off the car June 13 and didnt get it until July 9. I wasnt satisfied with the outcome and theres a lot of missed spots on the car so we have to return it July 11 and *** promised that he would fix all the blemishes. First week of August I asked *** on update, he told me that its almost done and it should be ready to be picked up by Friday (August 5) but we didnt get the car until Sunday (August 7). The car looked still the same and all the blemishes he tried to fix still visible and the car looks like it was rushed even though they have the car for another almost a month. I told him if he really cant fix it I want a half refund so I can look for another shop to fix the car. The car wasnt just damage on the exterior but also interior. There was a rattling noise when driving it, my windshield have scratches, missing bolts on bumper, and missing parts, etc. They have the car for almost 2 months but the service that they did is really unacceptable and disappointing.

Weve tried to communicate with the customer her paint job has a 5 year warranty and the paint that she chose is $1300.00 per gallon. Were conpletely willing to fix any issues that she has with her paint job. And weve told her that.

I am rejecting this response because:

First, *** didnt respond on my husband when my husband told him that some of that parts of car is still missing and all the parts of the car that needs to be touched up is still the same. There was no response/communication on their part at all. That in fact the second time we have to drop the car again we left them the car for another two weeks to fix it but they didnt fix all the issue that was mentioned. They have the car for almost 2 months. They returned the car that was not buffed good and not wash. So unprofessional.

Second, I dont know why *** is bringing up warranty right now. I am aware of that warranty. However, I am complaining because I am not satisfied with the workmanship. Even if how many times we have to bring my car to them, they wont fix it correctly. It has nothing to do with warranty if their work is the problem. I am tired of bringing back my car to them and waiting any longer.

Third, if the paint is expensive *** should have not accepted this paint job on the first place. Thats why hes the owner hes the one who put price on this job. Thats why we came for estimate before we started the car so he know how much this job was.

      Sincerely,
