I purchased a used transmission on July 7th and was promised a refund if it did not work. I took it to a reputable mechanic, Trail Ready Designs. Who install several transmissions a month with no issues. The transmission did not work. So, I ended up paying $1500 in labor fees. On September 2nd I returned the faulty transmission to Hermans. Upon returning the transmission they notified me that they would offer a refund after talking with the mechanic who did the installation. They called back and very aggressively told me it was damaged during installation and that I would have to settle with the mechanic. After contacting TRD, I was notified that Hermans never contacted the mechanic and that it was indeed faulty. So I had the mechanic contact Hermans in which they proceeded to make faulty accusations. I believe this is bad business practice making false claims against a business and misleading their customers. I was informed by my mechanic to file a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau. My family would benefit greatly from the return of the money taken from us from this corrupt business.Business response

When the customer picked up the used transmission she was advised to tell the mechanic to make sure the converter goes in properly and to change the seals before installing.
When she returned the transmission 2 months later she said the transmission was broken. Herman's then took the transmission to a transmission specialist that has been in business for over 30 years. Upon checking it out he called back and said the transmission pump was broken due to an installation error. Herman's then called the customer and she was notified that it was an installation error done on behalf of Trail Ready Designs and she would need to take this situation up with them.
When Herman's spoke to the mechanic from TRD he revealed that he did not change the seals as was advised upon pick up and says he never does on any of his jobs. This should be done by any replicable transmission mechanic. Also Herman's offered to show the broken transmission to him but he refused, he said he didn't need to see it.
So no faulty accusations or false claims should be made towards Herman's, but rather towards Trail Ready Designs due to installation error.
