I am seeking ****** Better Business Bureau intervention to obtain the full replacement cost of $663.87 for two custom seat cushions that were irreparably damaged due to negligence by Hakuyosha International, Inc., doing business as Hakuyosha Clean Living (herein referred to as HCL).The ***************** Standard Fair Claims Guide for Consumer Textile Products (herein referred to as ANSFCGCTP), dated January 1, ****, is used by HCL to calculate damage compensation. However, ANSFCGCTP covers laundry/dry-cleaning industry practices based on the ******************************* (FTC) Care Labeling Rule (****) and does not cover and/or is silent on the following criteria: The two cushion covers were custom made less than a year ago and did not have FTC Care Labels.The customer brought two cushions with covers on them for dry cleaning only because they were made of 100 percent cotton and would shrink if laundered in traditional washers and heat dryers. The covers were not manufactured or pre-shrunk.The HCL clerk had the customer remove the covers from the cushions, increasing the chances of them being thrown in a conventional wet washer and heat dryer. Had the cushions remained on, it would have been extremely difficult to use a wet washer and dryer. The cushion covers were, unequivocally, laundered in a wet washing machine and heat dried. As a result, the covers shrunk and were irreparably damaged and the stains were permanently set. This was validated by ***************************, HCL sales manager.HCL compensated customer on Oct. 4, in the amount of $497.91, which was $165.96 less than the *** Upholstery estimated replacement cost. Request ****** Better Business Bureau intervention to recoup $165.96 from HCL for full replacement costs due to HCL being fully responsible for negligence and disregard of customers instructions. Attached "Complaint.docx" includes all evidentiary supporting documents and photos to be sent to local and regional BBB offices.Business response

Once again we would like to clarify that we adheres to the ************************** Fair Claims Guide
for Consumer Textile Products in calculating damage compensation.
This guide is recognized and used widely in the laundry/dry-cleaning industry.
Upon your claiming we have decided to compensate you on Oct. 4, in the amount of $497.91,
which was calculated 75% of its cost based on the guidelines provided by ANSFCGCTP.
While we understand your request for full replacement costs,
we believe that we are waived to compensate 100% due to its value depreciation
as we are following the ANSFCGCTP which is a recognized standard in our industry.
We value your business and we strive to ensure our customers are satisfied with our services.
We hope this clarifies our position on this matter.
