Due to the 10-character limit I have attached a transcript of my complaint to *******************, owner of Waialae Plumbing and Construction, which is self-explanatory (see supporting documents).UPDATE:After the aforementioned complaint WPC mailed me a check for $1,256.54, which is what I had forked over to them or about half of my claim. This was duly noted in my email. The check was subsequently returned to them consistent with my cautionary advise that any settlement short of full reimbursement of my expenses, minus the $100.00 I had paid to the other plumber ($2,106.54 see above) was unacceptable.

******************* was explained our policies and procedures before scheduling an appointment. Upon arrival, he willingly signed our acknowledgement form. After assessing the problem and discussing possible solutions, he authorized and signed acknowledgement to start with installing a water hammer arrestor, which is the most obvious place to start. When this did not completely solve the problem, further options were discussed and once again, he approved additional work and signed for authorization. After cutting some holes in the walls, we found some pipes that needed proper strapping and exposed some leaking Shark Bite fittings, which we replaced. At this point, there was still a faint sound of water hammer at the kitchen faucet. ******************* signed for acknowledgment of the work completed and willingly paid his bill in full for all services delivered. Since then, he has hired other contractors and feels that we should pay for them, in addition to refunding all money paid to us. My manager met with ******************* at his house and he was told in no uncertain terms that his offer was a take it or leave it offer. He then proceeded to show my manager a video of him successfully suing someone in court and told him that he would do whatever was necessary to get what he wanted. I was away on a trip at the time and I told my manager to refund ******************* completely, even though we replaced leaking pipe fittings and provided and installed material of value. ******************* states that he hired two other contractors and that the solution was a simple draining and refilling of the water system. This makes no sense and is not the current standard operating procedure. If it worked at all, it would most likely indicate that the water system has air ******** installed, which was common decades ago, but is no longer in practice or required by code, since it has since been proven that the air ******** will eventually fill up with water and defeat their purpose. Proper isolation strapping of the water pipes and real hammer arrestors, as well as limiting water pressure to an acceptable amount are the properly recognized ways to prevent hearing the water hammer. Quick close valves will always cause water hammer, so water hammer arrestors help to absorb the energy associated with the sudden immediate stoppage of water flow. I am still happy to refund all of Mr ********* money paid to us for our work, as we realize that he is not satisfied and will not be calling us again. If his problem is truly solved, then it would seem as though he would be getting some value for the work performed. If we refund his money AND pay for his plumber and wall repair, he's not paying anything and effectively fining or punishing my company. This makes no sense to me at all.
