I subscribed weekly pool service from them for my new built pool from 10/22 through 12/23. When I started my service with them, they required me to use their on-line payment system "Quickbook" as the only payment option even though I told them that I have had inconsistent experience with the reliability of this system for processing payments properly and promptly. Nevertheless, they insisted this was only payment method they accepted. So I made my monthly payments in full and on time without any hiccup until 11/23 for the invoice#****. As usual, I made my full payment on time from the same account that I have been making payments from and received a notification later saying the payment was successful just like normal. 5 days (and 4 days after the due date), I received an email from the owner's wife (*****) saying I did not pay and sent me a revised invoice with $25 late fee charge plus $20 bank charge. So I responded with the notification copy and told her I did not know what she was talking about. This was when the whole thing went south. ***** was rude in her email replies that she accused me not responding to her and the failure of payment was due to me entering wrong account information which I asked for proof and she never produced. She threatened to send the bill to collection. I tried to call her to talk in person. She picked up the call and told me she did not have time to have conversation with me at the time. I then sent her an email to make sure she calls me back and detailed out the sequence of the events with timelines. She later called me back and fired at me like a machine gun that I did not even have any opportunity to get a word in the conversation until I told her to stop talking and listen. I told her if the payment did not go through, it was probably on Quickbook side as it has happened to me before and that's why I wasn't comfortable to use Quickbook as a payment method before. If she could prove that it was my fault, I would pay the $20 bank fee but not the late payment of $25 because she even acknowledged that I did make a payment before the due day. She was so rude after I asked for the proof that she suggested that I find someone else to service my pool and I said that was a good idea and then she just hung up on me. You would think after being a good customer making payment on time for a year that you would not be treated like a criminal just because of a hiccup and be slapped on multiple additional charges. But that is not how this company rolls. They take every opportunity to get your money. For the invoice ****, I received 4 different amounts to pay. I was sent with 2 different balance statements with different amounts and both with accounting and billing mistakes. One was double charging GET tax and the other was double charging on *************** fee. They can't even keep their book straight. There is no doubt that the original processing error was actually on their side and they tried to blame me for it. I could not tolerated the way they talked to me anymore. The story did not end here. We ended our business relationship in December 2023 with all issued invoices paid for and all communications ended on 12/24. I heard nothing from them until March this year (2024) from a collection agency in ******* for the amount of $99.48. What?? Basically they continue to slap on $25 late fee every month on the $20 contested bank fee that they could never prove my wrong doing without any further notification to me. Hawaii has a law for late charges that capped at 8% owed amount. They obviously violated that law for a disputed amount of $20. Also a business can only charge a customer with the amount that is agreed upon. I did not agree to the $20 bank charge that I did not even know if it is real. They also violated the right for consumer protection for lack of notifications. And they are still adding on $25 per month to this as we speak. I need this to stop and wipe out all unreasonable charges by them.
