We rented two Westies for 4 days (it was a 4 day minimum). I have all of the regrets.The vehicles that we received were not safe to be driven on the road.We were aware that we were renting older vehicles when this was arranged. We knew, and were not bothered by, cosmetic things like the air conditioner not working , any scratches or dents, any parts being held together by duct tape, the glove compartment coming off in our hand or anything visual. I am talking about vehicles that weren't safe for the road.Here is what was wrong with the vehicles:1. No odometer 2. No speedometer 3. No headlights 4. Brakes almost gone 5. Locks dont work (especially scary when sleeping in the vehicle with children)6. Steering alignment off by a solid 45 degrees 7. Key doesnt consistently work in ignition 8. Windows dont shut, which meant that the car gets pushed around by winds at higher speeds 9. Speed tops out below highway speed of traffic, unsafe 10. Additionally: Only one blanket for two separate beds, so one of us slept with no blanket at all in cold nighttime temps.11. No windshield wiper fluid, so she had to splash water on the windshield as she drove when it got dusty.12. Windshield wipers turned on spontaneously 13. Turn signal didn't work After returning the vehicles, we told this to the owner. I felt it was honorable to give him the chance to make this right before posting a negative review.Instead, he said he would not refund us anything. He considers the vehicles fine to drive and continue renting out. Beware, because if you rent from them, you could be getting one of these.Our vacation was short, and we were not going to take the valuable time (literally, Maui is expensive) out of our schedules to return and re-rent a different vehicle, and hope that it would be in better condition.I advise everyone to stay away. This was laughably awful (except that it cost over $700 for 4 days, so it's more of a laugh/cry situation).
