On April 21, 2023 I went on a deep sea fishing expedition with my son via this business. We were celebrating my sons birthday so this was a very special occasion, I had spoken and exchanged emails with the business manager to qualify this as the right business. They boasted that they were the right guys as we would undoubtedly have an amazing time, catch fish, and even taken some home to eat. Originally we were booked for April 20, but due to rain I called to reschedule. I was yelled at for trying to play weatherman. I almost canceled but then they took a nicer tone and moved my trip to April 21. It was an 8 hr semi private trip and we paid $860.The captain decided to troll. We did this for a few hours and everyone was disappointed and bored. No fish were biting. Instead of switching to bait, we kept trolling the entire 8 hrs with no bites. Very disappointing. Matters were MFA worse when we got back to shore and learned of a sister boat that started trolling but switched to bait after having no bites over 2 hrs. The caught about 20 fish.Business response

Unfortunately the day he tried to play weatherman was off the hook. He chose to switch dates and as luck as a fair part of fishing is, it did not go his way. But I believe we did everything in our power to make the day the most special we can. Wish people could see the silver lining more.Customer response

Last week we have were focused on sending my son off to college for his first year. I am now just seeing this exchange. The merchant has unfairly painted me as a "weatherman" in a sarcastic tone, however, the weather that day was abysmal with severe rain, thunder, lightning, wind, waves, etc. In fact, the merchant called me at 3 AM to cancel the fishing trip. Then he coerced me into joining a trip later in the week for a longer period of time touting the fact that fishing is more productive after a storm and that we would be sure to catch plenty of fish. Well, we did not catch plenty of fish. We did not even catch 1 fish among all the fisherman on our boat. However, a sister boat realized they needed to change tactics and caught a bounty of fish. My complaint rest upon the fact that we were sold the certainty of catching fish, yet no one on our boat caught any. A sister boat started with our same tactics, but changed them when they got no bites. The result is that they caught plenty of fish. The merchant oversold his certainty that we would catch fish and did not even back it up by trying all (or just even 1 other) tactics to catch fish. Had he done so, we likely would have had different results which would be more akin to the sister boat. Under this premise, the merchant should refund me fully for the fishing trip. Please reinforce this message to him and help me get full resolution to this matter.

He isnt telling the truth. We provided a safe experience as always. Sounds like hes mentally ill. He has been harassing us as well. He is one in a million.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: the business owner has not provided any proof that the provision of his service was acceptable or even on par with a sister boat's experience. Instead, he has fallen back on calling me names and sharing in accurate information. Initially I tried to resolve this issues by communicating directly with the business owner, but after several attempts, that did not yield any resolution. Then I reached out to the BBB. Since then, all my communication has been through the BBB.As previously stated, the business owner significantly overstated the fishing experience -- stating that the post storm weather was ideal for fishing and that we should definitely get some fish. Apparently the sister boat did experience that. However, in our boat, our captain used 1 tactic the entire 8 hr excursion and yield no results. Its beyond my understand why tactics were not changed as they were in the sister boat. Its clear the experiences were vastly different and resulted our boat having an abysmal experience, which the sister boat caught more fish than they could handle meaning a much more pleasant experience. As such, I'm asking our money be appropriately refunded in full.

You cannot compare the catch of two separate votes. His complaint is absolutely invalid. Hes never been called any names except for dont play weatherman. Better Business Bureau please do your job and protect us. We have been doing this for 50+ years very rarely do we get a client like this? We work extremely hard at what we do. This is absolutely absurd that he is asking for a refund. Services have been rendered blood, sweat and tears as well. He pretty much was harassing me on my personal cell phone.
