In October of 2022 I was contacted by a rep from Advertising Specialties Co. about placing an ad on placemats at *********************** in ******* **. The Barnyard never received the placemats and repeated attempts to contact this company has failed. I would like to get this matter resolved in either a refund or the placemats delivered. The company Advertising Specialties has still not given us a refund or given us the ******** they promised back in September 2023 after our initial complaint. I called *********************** in ******* prior to opening this back up, and they have still not received the promised placemats. The other businesses in and around **** and Decatur that paid for these ads on said placemat have not received their refunds either. This has gone on way to long. Process started in October of 2022. Payment was made also in October of 2022. Here it is March of 2024still no placemats and or refund!! We would like our refund!!

**** contacted me approximately a year ago to make placemats for my restaurant. He proceeded to call around to businesses in this town to sell ads so the placemats would be free to us. I have had several of those businesses call me and ask where the placemats are. I have talked to **** on a few different occasions and he has assured me the placemats would be here within a couple months each time. Fast forward a year later and NO placemats. I have no idea if those businesses received their money back for ads but I am 100% sure this was a scam!Business response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, he has made contact with me and I have approved the proofs (once again). He states I should receive the placemats by the holidays via phone call and by the end of the year via his email he sent. We shall see if he follows through on his word this time.

A representative named **** called my agency to sell me an advertising spot in a local restaurant on a placemat. I paid him $350.00 back in April. The ad was supposed to be approved and run by the end of July. I had to send several emails and calls a week to get him to answer. I even spoke to the owner of the restaurant. He wasn't even doing the ad anymore since he was having the same issue, **** has said to me for the last month he will refund my $350.00 and still has yet to do so. DO NOT do business with this company. It's a complete scam. This is just the first step I am taking against this company if I do not get my money refunded asap.Business response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Just a note on his response... I have been hearing that he is refunding my money for well over 30 days and have emails stating as such. If I do not receive my refund I will be filing another complaint. ****, sales rep from Advertising Specialties Co, sold me on some advertising for a local BBQ company to put my logo on their menus. I gave **** the autheration to go ahead with my ad. Then a week later I talk to the owner of the local **** **** tells me that he is not doing the menus with ********** company. I tried to get **** to reinburst my credit card. He has giving me all kinds of excuses.Business response

We were contacted by the owner, ****, and agreed to advertise with them on some restaurant placemats. Once they got our money, we have had very minimal response from them as to when the ads would be printing. We paid for the advertising in August 2021. After emailing several times, I finally got a response of "later this fall". It is now December 16th, and we have nothing to show for it. I have formally requested a refund.Business response

I am rejecting this response because: He has only stated that he will send me the refund, but this isn't the first time he's said that. I will not be accepting any resolution until the refund has been received and cleared our bank. He has advised that will take 2-3 weeks for me to receive the refund, for some reason.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. They sent us our money back, however, only after I had to borderline harass them for it and it still took several months to resolve. I 100% believe this is a scam business, that simply takes peoples money and strings them along far enough to where they either forget about the Ad, or just give up trying to get any money back. The amount of $250 is not enough for some people to spend so much time trying to get back, it was a nightmare. I honestly believe the ONLY reason I got any money back, was because I simply would not just *go away* like he hoped.
