  First time using community cpa as it was recommended by a landlord. I met with them in early April to get my taxes filed. After several months of asking if my taxes were filed, i finally got a response that my taxes would be filed in June. They filed a tax extension without my person, charged me for the tax extension, along with charging me additional fees that were not mentioned during our consultation. I have several emails where they gave me no direction or time as to when my taxes would be filed. I had a consumer advocate take a look at my communication with community cpa, and she asked them for the tax extension document, which they provided her with, however they sent her the document with my social security number listed! They should have blocked that information. They charged my account without notifying me they were going to pull money out and therefore caused my account to overdraft. It was not easy working with this company. they said they would refund me $60 but are charging me fees - late fees.

  Dear ******, we understand your frustration with this situation. It was your first time working with our firm and understand there was a delay in getting your taxes done. We did our very best to on-board you as our client close to the deadline and tried to work on your taxes, but with the delay in getting all the information, we went ahead to do an extension. We ended up waiving the extension for you at no charge since you were upset about it even though we did not have to do an extension for you. We then told you that we would refund you the $60 after receiving payment, but only to find out the tax payment that was authorized before filing your taxes was disputed with the bank and reversed so we no longer had your payment to begin with to could give you a refund. We do not mask your information, i.e., social number on your extension, when the consumer advocate you hired was asking for proof and records from us to validate our work because that would defeat the purpose of verifying the extension was done in the first place. I hope that makes sense to you and hope we can come to an agreement so you can make the payment to us for the work that was done for your taxes. We look forward to hearing from you soon, ******.
