Before closing on my house, Andy from Armor Electric quoted $1,050 for all electrical work. After closing (11/22/22), I had an appointment for work (11/23) where Alex from Armor found the knob and tube wiring was much more extensive and the house was not grounded (12 out of 15 outlets and all lights had old wiring). He said it would be $2,500-5,000, it was the company’s fault and they would get me a deal. He assured me the quote would not be near 5,000. On 11/28 I received an email containing a $4,172.66 quote (four times the original quote) with no explanation. After three days of waiting for any communication (12/1) I told Alex I was frustrated. I couldn't ask the seller to change the price now and asked if the 4,172 included "the deal". He repeatedly said they “couldn’t see through walls”. I'm not an electrician but to me, they didn't need to see through walls, they needed to check the outlets for old wiring. He said they would reduce the price to 3,077 and would be much more free 12/12 and after for appointments. On 12/2 I asked Alex to do the job for 2,800 since the outlets should have been checked to which he said, "we looked at everything we could"...except the outlets? But on 12/5 he agreed. I asked to setup an appointment which they set for 12/27-12/28, not close to the assured week of 12/12. This delayed the move into my house by a total of five weeks. The work was finished on 12/28. A frustrating and poor experience. I appreciate straight forward communication with no misleading promises (it wouldn't be close to 5,000 and they could schedule me soon). I don't review based on whether someone makes a mistake, but on how those mistakes are rectified. It took two weeks of me asking over and over for a fair price. Do not put the customer in an uncomfortable position of asking you to fix your mistakes. Fixing company mistakes should be top priority. If anyone wants proof via quoting, dates and messages, I would be happy to provide this information.

      Moriah,

We at Armor Electric, first want to apologize about the frustration and poor experience you had with us during this process. We did not intend for you to have ill feelings about the electric work we quoted and eventually completed. We understand how frustrating it is to receive pricing based on a defined scope of work, then upon more investigation find out there is more repairs needed.

We based our original quote on our initial inspection and what the city inspector found to be incorrect. When we started to remove devices and fixtures, that is when we uncovered additional items that were unsafe. We placed everything back as it was and gave you an updated estimate based on our in-wall/ceiling inspection/investigation. We feel like we communicated with you every step of the way and had given you multiple options and discounts based on the increased scope that we felt needed to be replaced for safety reasons and the added scope of work by you to have some lights added. Both parties agreed to a fixed price of $2800.

Once again, we are sorry you had a poor experience, please reach out to us directly if you have further questions or concerns, we would love an opportunity to make this right with you.
