Do not go here!!!I came in with complete loss of both of my legs from mid chest down in an ambulance. And was not provided any care. OR KINDNESS!! I was treated like a problem and brushed aside! I was left sitting in my own **** and s*** for over an hour after asking for assistance to go zto the bathroom three hours before that. They did do an MRI and ruled spinal cord injury then checked me out. Refused to answer any questions about how to care for myself or next steps. Because Im not emergency anymore so not emergent and they cant be kind and helpful. Got it. I was on my way out and caught them talking c*** about me. Horrible example of a hospital it should be shut down!!! They said Patients advocing would call me. They wont. Ai have asked for them before and left messages never to get a follow up. Will be suing.Review from Lynessa B

I was in a MAJOR motorcycle accident, and arrived by ambulance at this hospital. I couldnt walk to the bathroom let alone get home, they tried to administer ******** to me after I advise them I did not want it. The nurse came in saying she had pain meds I asked what kind, she told me where I told that I stated before I did not want those. She argued with me about it and waited over an hour to get me something else. After that, the nurse was extremely hostile towards me and released me after less than eight hours. When I tried to get dressed, I told her I was going to pass out and throw up. I wanted to rest her response was that I needed to hurry up cause I could not stay there and had to leave. They told me I had just a broken arm and two broken fingers, but four days later I ended up back in a different hospital where I found out I had six fractured ribs, a cracked sternum and major breathing issues and ended up having to stay in that hospital on oxygen for two days before being released after four days. when I was at unity point Methodist, I advise them I was having trouble breathing, MULTIPLE TIMES I even told the emt. I was covered in bruises and lacerations and they still chose to release me instead of hold me for 24 hours and do a secondary scan even though I kept telling them I was having trouble breathing. I will never go here again, I watched them force out a homeless man who didnt understand what was going on. I am seeking legal action for malpractice for their lack of empathy, attempt to force pain meds on me, and incorrect diagnoses. From what I understand they do this a lot so if your a lawyer let me know!Review from Juliana B

10/10 dont recommend the ** here. I was in here a week ago pregnant, about 10 weeks pregnant and bleeding with a foul smell. The male doctor wanted to stick a catheter up my urethra without pain medication for a pee sample when I was B**Y capable of peeing in the cup. He didnt run any other tests like blood work or a culture sample. Then for the ultra sound ( I have not been to my on for my first appointment yet) the lady did it in less than 10 minutes and didnt even look to make sure everything else was ok besides the baby. Now 1 week later Im back in the same shorty ** where they are not busy having people wait 2 hours to just het checked in and when I had to pee and asked to pee in a cup they wanted me to hold it in waiting room for everyone to see until I was called for a room ????Review from Troy H

Here's a hint, a Unity Point employee who's a family member with medical power of attorney as well as the executor and heir to the estate should not be assigned to hospice care for that patient or you might find they stole half of everything.Review from Nishant S

One of the worst experiences of my life working with Unity point billing department. I had my daughter's visit at the doctor's office more than a year back. They sent me the bill but had not put to claim to my health insurance provider. After more than 50 follow ups (phone calls, conference calls with insurance providers), I am still getting the bill and they have now sent it to a collection agency. Acccoridng to them, they had sent out to insurance company but the payment has been denied because the insurance company couldnt find my daughter;s name on the record. However, insurance company says that they have never presented it to thme. I have been trying to connect to Unity point (i am doing as i write ) but my calls are being forwarded everywhere but am not getting resolution. Clearly, this is a case of harassmentReview from Amy G

This clinic sent me to a pain management center at Methodist who can't even get a prescription right for my walker through my insurance so do I trust them to give me shots for pain in my spine, absolutely not, they also referred me to a gynecologist who can't even spell in their appointment letters,I'm still without a rolator walker because of the negligence of Jen Ali at Unity point clinic on SW Jefferson and am without a rolator walker because of the negligence of the nurse Taylor Green of the pain clinic at Methodist 900 main St suite 780 , The office had fax machine issues for weeks causing me pain and suffering just to get my Molina ride service established. They also couldn't find me the proper medical equipment that I was prescribed with no problem in New York. They also required an unnecessary papsmear to be prescribed birth control. They knew I am a fall risk based on all my medical documentation and didn't get the walker ordered for me to prevent future falls as I have multiple spine ,hip and neck injuries and also knee and foot injuries, neuropathy, and arthritis and leg edema.I would highly recommend noone ever use their medical services in the future Thankfully my insurance is sending me to a better primary care facility that cares about the disabledReview from Cherrie Miller

This is a complaint against Unity Point Hospice in Fort Dodge ****. It was a horrible nightmare experience. My Dad, a two time veteran, suffered to die as a result of the way he was treated. My Dad suffered to die as a result of what you did. You said you give comfort, care, and compassion. It was all c*** His body was swollen because you took his heart medicine from him. The heart medicine was the size of a BB. If he could swallow food he could swallow that. He died in convulsions and foaming at the mouth. He suffered to die. An outside agency reviewed what you did. The conclusion is that this was not hospice care, you DID NOT meet the minimum standard of care, and what you did was cruel. Horrible experience. But you got your $10,945. My Dad did not deserve what you did.. your disrespect and disregard for human life is unconscionable. HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! Effective July 1, 2022, SF522, was signed into law by Governor Reynolds. This law protects Iowans over the age of 60 against elder neglect and abuse. This law protects Iowans from physical, mental, financial and sexual abuse. I worked for 6.5 years to get this law passed. It is my hope that no one will suffer to die the way my Dad did.Review from Janette J

My sister and I went to visit my dad and I was advised only 2 people per day can visit. But.. the same two people can only visit and that was per day. I pulled up their policy and NO WHERE does it state, it has to be the same people all day. This place should be fined!Review from Amy D

Horrible customer service. Billing **** is rude!! I use to work for this hospital and I am greatly disappointed how much it has changed for the worse. I moved my kids to Pekin unity point. I put my mothers name down as an emergency contact, but they put her in as Responsible party for the bills! I received a collection **** in my mother's name for $60. They already received hundreds from our insurance company. They knew exactly who the insurance policy is under. After several emails and phone calls, I finally got a person and not a recording to return my calls back, while I am at work.. only to be treated like a scorned child. This women verified that the bills were sent back as undeliverable due to that person not living here. She turned it around on me for not contacting them earlier on their mistake! I have been begging for a **** for weeks now and have never received one! It was a horrible situation and now I have to pay collections due to their mistake. I have never not paid any of my bills. I have been a patient with them for over 42 years. They lost my families business. To many hospitals out there! St ******* treats their patients much better.
