Hello. My concern with Days Inn/ by Airport in Des Moines IA. My boyfriend and I made a reservation for Friday the 12th. My boyfriend had called that same morning to assure they would leave him and room key since he would be coming in later than me. He also wanted to get a credit card authorization form. The guy was rude about it and acted annoyed. I checked in that afternoon/ an employee was rude towards me. He said he spoke to my boyfriend (he rolled his eyes at me). I said " Is there a problem?" He said " don't worry about it." Then he gave me a room key. Then I went to leave for supper. The room that was given to me smelt like pot/ weed. There was also red stains. I went downstairs and it was a different person working, a gal. She went into the room with me. She said she felt the stains we're nail polish but wasn't sure. She said her nose was stuffy so she couldn't confirm what the room smelt like. She did give me another room. I was still not satisfied. My boyfriend wasn't able to cancel due to him flying to **** that day. I talked to him on his layover that evening, and he felt it was best to find something different. So I went to the front desk and the gal said she couldn't issue a refund and I needed to say. I told her a lot it was a problem and it needed to be handled. She said she contacted the manager and he said no to the refund or to help that night. She said he would be available in AM and I would need to stay. Then, I contacted corporate that evening, filed a complaint for me. He said since we booked through a 3rd party, that I for a refund/ faster solution that I'd need the hotel manager. But we had no luck. Today, I recieved an email. Hotel boss clearly didn't do an investigation because he is claiming none of this even happened. Which confuses me because the gal who worked that night, said she had been having conversations with the boss about it and how he said no to issuing a refund or to seek resolution that night- so I'd need to stay. That's what I was told.
