Here are the facts of the landscape / retaining wall work:Our landscape/retaining wall on the south side of our property was damaged in August 2020 due to the Derecho. A large Cottonwood tree fell in our driveway with branches damaging the wall in a number of places.We were intentionally patient in hiring Whitfield (waited until April 16, 2021) to complete the work on the wall over the summer of *************************************************************************** the days and weeks following the event. We agreed to a price of $4,173 based upon the following:oWhitfield agreed to utilize existing landscape blocks to completely finish the job since the block color is no longer available (and nothing close) from the manufacturer. We made Whitfield aware of this fact. There were blocks from the highest rows and from the furthest west end of the wall that could be used to completely finish the job. This agreement was a key agreed upon point in ultimately hiring Whitfield.oThe agreement was to utilize those extra blocks to finish the job but also to keep the sizing the same to maintain the uniform look of the wall. Another key point in hiring Whitfield.oPer the contract, 50% due upon signing and 50% due following final walkthrough and This walkthrough will be scheduled by Contractor. This is another key point as you read on as Whitfield ignored this important part of the contract and ultimately refused to return to our property after pulling the full payment from our bank account.2 or 3 workers from Whitfield arrived about 10:15am on Tuesday July 27, 2021 and were done for the day by approx. 1:45pm. Upon arrival, I (****) told the lead worker I would be working from home every day the rest of the week and available inside the front door for any questions that might arise as they work to finish the wall as promised verbally and in the contract.
