I love their cookbooks. So I got an offer in the mail to get a free copy of the newest cookbook when I purchase a 1-year magazine subscription. I purchased the subscription, and never received a cookbook. Instead they substitute a small magazine of slow cooker recipes. Even worse, they sold my information to countless partners or other businesses. I get spam mail and emails every day from similar businesses and it only started happening after I purchased their magazine subscription. These guys ****.Dotdash Meredith Response

Terrible business practices. Signe up for 1yr subscription and they kept auto renewing. I never signed a contract for an auto renewal. Then you call to cancel and you get sent to a call center in ***** where they treat you horribly. I never raised my voice and the person on the other line just kept talking over me. Finally got to someone in the US and they refuse to help me. Dont trust this company! Shady business practices and I can see why their rating on BBB is so abismal. Do not purchase from this company. *** spent hours on the phone trying to resolve and get my money back only to be told to go kick rocks.Review from Lise B

Dotdash Meredith is a data ****** that is playing fast and loose with consumer privacy and marketing rules. I did not sign up for their emails and yet I get them. Their emails do not have an unsubscribe option. I have tried to unsubscribe several times by going to their preference center and though it has an unsubscribe button it does not not work. No changes are made or saved. I tried opting out but the form they require asks for even more personal information about me and who knows what they would do with that? I then contacted the company directly to make the request and issue a complaint and twice now they have sent me back to the broken site and overreaching opt out form. In reading these reviews, it appears that I have been scammed like everyone else. Order #13046 has not been fulfilled. How can the BBB let this fly for so long without doing the right thing? I want an immediate refund but I have a feeling that I will get the runaround like countless others who have written reviews on here. I guess I need to contact the BBB directly to make a formal complaint?Review from Scott C

Zero Stars 11 months ago I subscribed to 2 magazines. They sent them to the wrong address even though I entered it correctly. After updating the address they still sent it to the wrong place. 8 months ago I requested a refund after it became clear they would never get it right. Although most of the customer service representatives I communicated with sounded like they were trying to help, I still haven't received a refund. I've accepted that the money is gone and won't be pursuing it further.Review from Nadine W

Terrible, unethical recruiting practices. I interviewed for a job at Tripsavvy previously. They had me do an initial, 15-minute phone interview, a TWO HOUR interview with three different people and a writing test that took me nearly a full day. I followed up with thank you emails to the team and was polite. Yet, they never notified me about my status and rejection, despite the fact that I took so much time out of my life for their interview process. These recruiting ethics are appalling and extremely disrespectful, especially compared to recruiting ethics common in other countries like Japan, where they always at least take the courtesy of notifying you.Review from Sarah L.

I’m concerned this company is fraudulent. I was billed 11/14/22 $16.22 for a magazine subscription. I never received any magazines. Then, I was billed $90.71 on 1/10/23 for an auto renewal. I immediately cancelled the auto renewal and sent an email to the company requesting a full refund since I haven’t received any magazines. Today is 1/22/23, and I still haven’t received an email response and have not received a refund.Dotdash Meredith Response

Our systems indicate Ms. ******** used our self-service portal to turn off auto renewal on 1/10/23. Director of customer service (Wendy ****) cancelled & refunded the customer today. ++++Review from Jim A

What a criminal organization. On going criminal activity. Impossible to unsubscribe or block spam from any publication they push. Nothing but a information harvest and sell scam. A criminal gangster operation that needs to be closed and anyone affiliated imprisoned.Review from Sophie B.

Purchased a one-year subscription to Better Homes & Gardens in July 2022. Was billed immediately. Still have not received anything and we are now in September. I contacted their team by replying to my order confirmation email as instructed to ask if those delays were normal (they had all of my personal info included as the original email was quoted), after which their customer service agent replied that they couldn't find an account with my email address and needed more information such as my address, full name, etc. to proceed with my request for support. I gave them the information again, mentioning it had already been included in my first email and was then ghosted by their customer service despite several follow-*** within the same email thread for two weeks. I contacted my credit card company about this charge aftet those two weeks and asked for them to dispute the charge given their failure to provide the service I had paid for or handle my customer support request. The following day, I received a vague email from Meredith Corporation saying that they had forwarded my email "to the appropriate department for handling" and asking me to include every email correspondance with them when contacting them in the future to ensure that "my request is handled in a timely fashion" even though I had done so the whole time as I had only ever replied to the same thread (I can still see all of my messages to them under this update). To say I am ****** off and dissatisfied with my experience would be an understatement. SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE: DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.Review from Kimberly W.

Would give zero stars if could. DO NOT order from this place! On July 28, 2022, I was wanting to order PEOPLE magazine. This company is what came up when researching. Stupid me didnt look at reviews then, but after ordering, there was something that popped up with review rating and I saw it was not impressive! I immediately started trying to cancel order. But everywhere the website tells you to go to put in your cancellation request, it would say there was no order with that information. I kept trying getting the same results. I then tried the phone number it said to call, and got recording that they were closed. I have tried every site they say to online, including my account, which doesnt even give options, the mag customer service.com, which tells me theres no order, every way I can but to no avail. This morning I actually got to speak to a human in customer service who gave me the same story! He couldnt find an account with all this information! They were able to find it when they charged my card on July 29, 2022!!! They have 3 service orders concerning this that when they reply, they give me the same bull.I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THEY KEEP SAYING THERE ISN'T AN ACCOUNT IN THIS NAME! Like I said, they charged my card.******** W *************** Order date: July 28, 2022 For: PEOPLE magazine 52 issues Charged card $55.12 on July 28, 2022 to Magazines.com I WANT THIS ORDER CANCELED AND MY CARD REFUNDED!! This place is a scam, and should not be allowed to operate!BBB....can you not help me??I have copies of emails sent with order number, account number, account ID, amount, responses saying theres not an account, if you, BBB, needs them sent.Please help?Thank you.Dotdash Meredith Response
