I bought a Pacifica from TBK on Feb 23 for $3142 and some change, I went back about 4 days later with my brother who knows a lot about vehicles in attempt to return the vehicle. That vehicle is currently sitting at a professional shop because it's undrivable and deemed unsafe for me and my two children, 1. The power steering pump and hoses are so bad they needed replacement right away. 2. The undercarriage is so rusted underneath the frame is not safe at all and even if the power steering pump and hoses were fixed, the life of the vehicle is very minimal at best, if at all. Buying and trying to return this vehicle has been the worst experience of my life and has created a lot of stress for me to get my kids to daycare and work. This vehicle was already dangerous when they sold it. I had to start putting power steering fluid in right away the first few days. And the ONLY thing they mentioned was a head gasket was fixed. Actually, the first thing they said was they did the head gasket, a little bit later it was, the head gasket was done before it got here. It was 3 things said different, I cannot remember the third.I would offer to let them fix it but being it's at a professional shop right now and they deemed it unsafe to drive because of all the rust under the bottom, a full refund is warranted here. And I will return this vehicle to them. This purchase immediately jeopardized my life and the life of my children.Business response

This vehicle was a trade in which was being sold as is which was made clear from the beginning and the customer was given the opportunity to check it out and test drive before purchasing. The customer came back approximately 4 days after purchase and was demanding a refund and was told that it would need to go to our shop to be looked at which she chose not to do. The remarks about the head gasket being done are true. We had the head gasket done on this vehicle but did not do it here and the shop states the vehicle was not dangerous to drive which I would agree with. If the vehicle is indeed dangerous for the family I dont know why I still see it driving on the streets practically daily as of nothing is wrong. It was said in the original conversation that the brother found a vehicle on marketplace that he thought would be better for her but that is something you need to look into before purchasing any title transfer has been started. The rust on the rockers was visible before the purchase and did not change any after the vehicle was purchased. The customer even admits that the rust was visible to the eye. This rust on the exterior rocker does not make this vehicle dangerous. I would take this vehicle back as a trade in toward something else after title transfer if there is another vehicle which is better suited to their needs just like I have already stated.

I am rejecting this response because:There was an immediate need to get the power steering pump replaced immediately, also as you can see both tie rods are loose and need attention asap, I cannot afford the $3100 I gave to you for the vehicle and now $700 for this and the money needed to fix the tie rods (both). My complaint was done prior to knowing this.
Why on earth would I trade it in for another vehicle and have a payment of a possible different dangerous vehicle. Yes, it was 4 days later I came in with my brother because the vehicle is no where near the value what I paid and expected and want my full refund.
As a consumer, I was taking advantage of and that is not right or fair and very unethical.

Again this vehicle was a trade in and we made it very clear that it was being sold as-is before the purchase. I have also attached a signed as-is statement by you acknowledging this fact. I told you to bring the vehicle to our shop and we would take a look at it for you but you choose not to do that. I will not be issuing a refund for this vehicle just because you think a vehicle on marketplace is a better value without even knowing if it has any hidden problems. I will say that any vehicle that is priced under 3k and is 17 years old has a pretty good chance of needing some things just like we told you when you bought it.
