On May 18, 2023 I made an out of pocket payment to my dentist. We submitted the receipt to SISCO in June for a FSA refund. SISCO handles both insurance and FSA. First, they were holding up payment processing because they wanted an itemized receipt. We provided them with one. They continued to hold up the payment processing, because they decided they wanted an itemized receipt with codes. We provided them with that. In over 20 years of having an FSA, I've never had to provide codes for a FSA claim. Next, they were holding up processing because they said they overpaid the dentist when the dentist submitted a claim to the insurance portion of SISCO. That should have been an issue they needed to resolve with the dentist, because it was their mistake and it shouldn't have affected my FSA claim for out of pocket expenses. On September 13, 2023 my husband called SISCO to check on this ongoing claim, and he was told, the payment was already made. I have not received a payment. Later that night we checked the status of the refund on the SISCO portal and noticed they declined my FSA claim. Dentists are a FSA covered expense, especially when it wasn't cosmetic! Also, it appeared that they paid the dentist the refund, instead of me. It has been four months of excuses and issues in what seems to be a deliberate attempt to avoid paying a refund for out of pocket medical expenses that are a covered FSA expense. This company needs to be investigated and audited.
