Insurance claims after an emergency room visit were sent to my husbands place of employment rather than the insurance company. This occurred in November, I called Mercy to correct this. Another claim was sent to the employer in December, I again called Mercy and made a complaint with patient relations, I was insured the problem was corrected. Another claim was sent in January. I called again and was told it was corrected but that billing was never made aware which is why claims were continuing to be sent. This is a breech of my privacy as my husbands employer received detailed information regarding ***************** visit in October. The problem was not resolved and this occurred multiple times.Initial Complaint

My wife ********************* had our daughter ******************* on 1-11-22 at Mercy Iowa City. Received a bill of $1054.23 reference #A2201100178. After it was paid we realized a week later they never billed our second insurance. They were notified and said they would issue a refund. Called in July and they said it was still processing and would take up to 6 weeks. Our insurance already said they covered the whole bill. I just called again today 11/7/22 and was bounced around to 3 people and they said a 4th would call me. Still have received a call back. We would like our money back. Its been 10 months since the daughter was born and the bill was due 6/10 so its been at least 5 months past the date we paid it. Clearly past the 6 weeks they claimed.Business response

Mercy received this complaint on 11/8/22. This issue was resolved with a refund sent to complaintant on 11/18/22. This was the desired resolve.
Mercy apologizes for the difficulties encountered to achieved this. Our hope is that the refund is satisfactory.
