Transaction Date: June 22, 2022 Issue Date: May 15, 2023 Contract Amount: $56,288 Amount already paid to Contractor: $35,044 Issue: We have rehashed via text and email the same three contractual issues for the last month. These are separate from the roof having exposed and caulked over nails, as well as other issues, which put our new roof at risk of leaking. 1. After denials, misrepresentations, outright refusal and 22 days, the contractor got a county permit (9 months after the job). As this was recently turned back on us, as holding up the project over $75 ($150 after the fine), we realized that we needed intervention.2. Local permit issue.3. Main Service Panel (***) upgrade never installed. The roof was installed last July. The contractor stated in an 8/4/22 text to us that the roof was "unacceptable." Over five months passed, and ***** was unable/unwilling to find a roofer. In January, we gave him the name of the guy, who checked the roof for winterization. ***** stated in his May 15th email that he was unable to connect with him. We never stated that we needed this roofer to complete the job. We were just trying to help him find a roofer. Due to earlier project issues, we were offered discounts, neither of which have been given due consideration of late. Option 1 was that ***** would cover the cost of the *** (contract item #**). He sent an unrelated invoice and stated that this was our discount. However, this was never completed. We sent him a picture of our 20-year-old *** on 5/19. Option 2 was time and materials on the roofing part of the contract. In our latest email, we stated that this was the best, simplest option. The replacement/repair of the roof must be included in that, as this future liability is a result of his job. We would waive the *** portion of the contract and fix any local permit fees/fines.Most frustrating is that he has continuously threatened us with liens and other legal actions, even as he was lying to us.

Peter Sarelas, the CEO, was not very kind. I signed the contract in 1/13/2022, the system just got completed 11/2/2022. Very little communication throughout the months, when they did call it was always a different person and phone number, then he blamed me for not answering, in which I explained I get a lot of spam calls and its hard to keep up with the multiple phone numbers. At one time there was over 8 numbers calling me. They were asking me to take pictures of my roof to send them before they started, then my fuse box and fuses. then the outside power thing. I am a single parent who knows nothing about this stuff. The panels were finally installed this summer, by some younger people, then they hired a local electrician to do the power. Items would be delivered and dumped right in the middle of my drive way so we couldn't park anyway, as we live on a road where we can only park on one side, across the street and down a little ways. When they would call and tell me when they would be there to work on it, they would never show up, then we wouldn't get notification again, they would just show up a week or two or three later. At the end I asked if they were finally completed, and Peter emailed me back and I asked him about the rebate or whatever it was called, as I was told I would get a check at the end, and I could use it to put back on the loan or however I wanted, and Peter was rude about it and accusing my of complaining and saying it was a tax thing. No one ever mentioned it this was taken care during my taxes being taken care of, I would have remembered that. He was extremely rude in his email and I did tell him I would never refer him because of his customer service alone. The guys hired to put the panels and do electricity were good, he contracts everything out, which I was also not made aware of.

    Source Solar LLC Response

    Jenny-

I apologize for the delay with your system. As mentioned in your response, with your busy schedule, we had a hard time getting a hold of you to sign paperwork from Alliant and to acquire pictures needed for our engineering reports. Even after installation, we had about a month delay for the Certificate of Completion to be signed which turned the 6 week alliant approval to almost 3 months.

Source Solar installs the modules on your roof, the only work we subcontract out is to a local electrician so you have a local point of contact in case something goes wrong in the future.

As stated in your proposal and loan documents, you will be receiving the 26% federal tax credit (now 30%) when you do your taxes next year. This is a tax credit and not a rebate. We are very specific in that verbiage. Feel free to have your tax professional contact us directly if they need any assistance.

Keep an eye out for our holiday card this year
