    Good luck with your appointment. Schaal will call and reschedule it. You have a maintenance agreement for spring/fall and have to call them for the appointment which they will reschedule when time gets close.

    Schaall recently replaced our HVAC in our old ********** home. They were transparent throughout the whole process from our initial meeting to the day they came to install. Everyone was friendly and respected our time and home, They did a great job installing. They did some extra work on our water heater as well because they saw some rust free of charge, I would recommend Schaall to a friend.

    We utilized Schaal for the installation of our current Furnace & AC. After two separate interactions with their customer service, I couldn't possibly make a recommendation to a friend to go through them. The first red flag was on our second annual "free" maintenance. After spending a little over $14k with them, I was told that I would have to pay for my 2nd free maintenance because they didn't have any openings prior to the expiration of the two years. They finally agreed to send someone and not charge me. Trust me, I've been charged. I paid $14k for an AC and Furnace. I've been charged. The second red flag was that as part of my installation we ordered a UV/Allergen filtration system produced by Dynamic Air Systems and the bulbs are to be ordered through the company. I advised that I only need to order the bulbs and was told that they could send a technician out to see what I needed. Huh? You installed it, look at the invoice and tell me what I need. I advised that I didn't need a service call, I need the bulbs. I pulled the tag off the bottom of the unit and ordered the bulbs online. They were $67. I was infuriated, so I called back and a manager returned my call. I explained the situation and was informed that most home owners don't know how to change a light bulb (these are the special ones that you cannot touch, but it isn't rocket science). He then explained that the bulbs are good for 3 years, which they say 2, but nonetheless.... then he said that I could order them next year and that they are $350. So you make the decision.... go with these guys, and be treated like crap. Or find someone who is nice to you, even after you give them your money.

    Working with Schaal is like playing russian roulette. While most of the time they are excellent with everything, you are always risking to take a hit with some of the worst service ever. When we first contacted Schaal we planned to have the project set in stone within a week so we can pick between a few options and get things rolling asap, but I did not expect it would take Schaal more than a week at a time to reply to my general questions and every single time I have to email, call, call customer service, call other techs so they can help me to call and end up with a short reply void of any helpful information. We are more than 3 weeks after the initial visit and I have yet to get a hold of Tony Smith for an updated quote, he is clearly avoiding me. Now I just have to question the reason behind this excessive avoidance and ghosting, I understand when a job is a bit complicated and I am fine with it costing more but this feels like something completely different, could it be because my race? I guess that is something only Tony ***** with Schaal Plumbing knows! Will NOT recommend

    Schaal is my go-to company when I want/need my HVAC system checked. The technicians are on time, know what they are doing and can explain what they are doing in terms a layman can understand. Each technician who has come to my house, this time it was Josh Speckner, is comfortable around dogs and my dogs are comfortable with them.

    The installation crew was excellent and super kind. They laid out all the information and walked me through how to use my new thermostat. The problem came with trying to get an itemized receipt for insurance. Do not recommend going through them if you're replacing units due to natural disasters/anything that requires an insurance claim. It took nearly a month to get a price breakdown for the ** unit with a description of the work done and why - all I need for my insurance claim for replacing my ** unit that got an electrical surge from a lightning strike.All of the staff when I've called to try to get the issue resolved have been kind, but none of them had the authority or ability to get me what I needed. It should be very simple. Itemized receipts should be standard practice. I understand a little more challenge with the reasoning for the job description. But still.
