I took a test drive in the ***** Equinox and at that time did not hear any rattles. The exterior looked good. I decided to purchase the vehicle. I should have been suspicious when the dealer said MULTIPLE times that the car was as is. On the way home I started hearing a rattle. I was told to bring it back and they fixed the A/C. The rattle got worse and worse. The muffler started to get very loud and within a day the muffler was shot. I looked underneath the vehicle and saw that someone had applied epoxy to the muffler and it was crumbling off. When I took it to be looked at I was told there were MANY things wrong, totaling $3800. Then I was told 2 of the tires ********* in them. Yesterday while out of town on vacation with my family my car broke down AGAIN. That was $400. Overall I have spent more than the car is even worth. The dealership will take no responsibility.Business response

In response to your complaint. I try to make sure every person who comes in to look at our used vehicles, is aware of our policies upfront, so I apologize if I told you multiple times that it was sold as is. On our lobby wall is a large yellow sign that states: ALL VEHICLES ARE SOLD AS IS/NO WARRANTY! THE ***** IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL REPAIRS AFTER PURCHASE! PRIOR TO PURCHASE AND AT THE *****S EXPENSE THE ***** MAY TAKE A VEHICLE TO A LOCAL MECHANIC FOR INSPECTION. Since these are used vehicles sold as is, I have know idea what will happen in the future, is why there is the large sign posted in the lobby so customers can see as soon as they come into the lobby that you can take a vehicle prior to purchase and have inspected. On the Buyers Guide that is in every used vehicle for sale on our lot it states that the used vehicle it sold AS IS No Dealer Warranty. The dealer does not provide a warranty for any repairs after sale. It has the used vehicle Make, Model, Year and VIN# so you can do your research before purchase. It also states, that you can ask the dealer if your mechanic can inspect the vehicle on or off the lot. It lists some major defects that *** occur in used vehicle, where you can obtain a a vehicle history report/recalls. I had you sign the Buyers Guide in two places so that you were aware that you could take the used vehicle to have it inspected by a mechanic of your choice to get a unbias inspection prior to purchasing. You also signed on the Purchase Agreement where it states, Warranty Disclaimer You Understand That The Vehicle Is Sold AS IS With All Faults and That There Are No Implied Warranties Of Merchantability, Fitness For A Particular Purpose. By you signing all the documents I made you fully aware of our policies so there would be no confusion after sale. You choose not to take the vehicle prior to purchase to your mechanic. I'm very upfront that these are used vehicles. I did do a goodwill repair for you on the *** that I'm not required to do, when you called me. You have not contacted me directly about any other issues you were having. Please feel free to contact me directly, at ************, if you would like to discuss further or have questions about our policies. Have a good day!
