Bought brand new VW Atlas on 7/27/2024. There was $4766.08 in aftermarket items that were included in the purchase price. I was told on 7/27/2024 that "****" from their aftermarket department would call me to schedule installation of these aftermarket items. No call from ****. I followed up with our salesperson 08/01 and 08/02 and he stated he'd reach out to her. I was told she'd reach out to me to schedule. Still no call from ****. Followed up again on 8/09 and was told she'd call me Monday 8/12. No call from her on Monday. I tried calling her and no answer. Reached out again to salesperson and finance and advised I now want a refund of those items since the service has been horrible trying to get a phone call to even schedule it. I was told they could not refund it because the loan has already been funded and he states he talked to **** and said she texted me at 3pm on 8/13 asking what day/time worked. I advised I received no such text and have my phone with me at all times. I was then told she'd call be by 9am on 8/14. Still NO CALL! I want refunded the amount of the aftermarket items. They can send payment directly to the finance company.

On January 30th, 2024 i was brought in to the dealership by a friend. I told the company i was looking to get a loan by myself and if i had to have a cosigner i would designate my husband. I stressed this the entire time that i was looking to buy a car in my own name since i am the one there, buying the car I didnt think that i would have to stress that so often. I kept telling them the car was too much and that the payment was too high and i wanted something more affordable and if i couldnt get the car on my own i didnt want to do *************** of being there negotiating they pretended like they were going to compromise on the amount of the payment and that it wouldnt be as high. Once we agreed on the price they quoted me around ****** the total price of the car. A 2024 Volkswagen Taos. After this we go to the office where they have the paperwork signed and when i get it i am not the primary on the loan. My husband is listed as the primary and i am the cosigner after i stressed immensely i do not want that and i was lied to directly to my face and they changed it behind my back and never directly told me. As i am signing the paperwork they are adding all of these additional warrantys and making it so the payment is back up to what i cant afford and i was also made aware that the car was closer to ******, not what they had previously told me. During this as well they were whispering to my friend about the incentive bonus he receives for bringing me in, and that he brings people OFTEN i am made aware that i was just a ****, and they didnt care about how it was going to affect my life afterward even though i was telling them they could end up getting me divorced. I was taken advantage of and i never thought i would have to be so scared to go to dealerships or that i would need to have a lawyer with me to buy a car and not get taken for granted by a money hungry business that pretends its a small town business that cared about their customers.

I am rejecting this response because:

I apologize but an apology doesnt really change anything about what happened and that your employees still took advantage of me. I don't feel helped by an acknowledgement. I reached out directly to you guys as soon as i got the license plates in the mail and i was further convinced that its just a formality that im not the primary on the loan, and i was told whatever to appease me in the situation. However the loan doesnt show up on my credit whatsoever. If i wanted to have the car returned for something else that i could afford how am i supposed to trust that i could not be taken advantage of again and fooled. I would also have to have my credit ran another *************************************************************************************** my own name. I didnt see any offer of making up for the matter or how you would intend to do so. I was made out to be stuck with this situation and your company is just a further indication of corporate america taking advantage of the people who come in to your doors looking to better their life. Thats what i was doing. I thought i was making a step toward having a better life and making good decisions and it was all a ruse and i got fooled by the way your company words things and its not okay. I would like to have the car taken back and be put in something i can afford without being put through the ringer again. If you can offer anything like that i am listening.

      Sincerely,

      *************************

On Thursday, 10/19/2023, I called Marion McGrath Volkswagen Dealership to inquire about a vehicle. I spoke with ****** and explained my situation and what I was looking for in detail with no cosigner and she assured me that hey could meet my expectations. I then made an offer of $4500 for a 2011 **** Fusion, financing, and no money down via text message. In response I received an acceptance of my offer via text message. After that and in the last week I have been told first that I do need to co-signer just so I have somebody with the driver's license on there and that their credit didn't have any part to do with it really. Then I was told I needed somebody who had a driver's license and credit. Then it was told to maybe go for a vehicle that was more expensive I'd have a better chance of getting financing on my own. Then I was told I do need a cosigner with license and that has purchase a vehicle in the past and has that on their credit report. I am extremely frustrated and I have been running around trying to meet demands if they promised I would not have to deal with for the last week. They made an agreement with me initially for no money down no cosigner and financing on my own. I feel that they need to honor that with me.

      Hello,

I spoke with *** in great detail that we will need a qualified cosigner or have another method of funds. All of our lenders are not able to obtain financing for the unit she inquired on. She is aware that a cosigner or cash down is needed for her purchase.

      Thanks

On June 9, 2023 I traded my 2019 ****** to McGrath used cars in Marion **** for $27000 and received $12000 payoff, $6000 cash and a 2008 Buick. The very next day I noticed it had mechanical issues with not starting and running. I told the dealer and they said they would repair it. I took the car back after getting an appointment a week later.and they had it for an entire day then told me to go to McGrath Buick and they had the vehicle for several days waiting parts. When the parts came in, many times I called and got no answer or promised the car each day and never got it. They still have the car for what became a week now. I have called several times and they are in a meeting or they dont answer my calls. Since I am having these issues I researched trading the car in for another and discovered its only worth approximately $1800. I understand they should make a profit but approximately $6000 is dishonest in my opinion. I want a replacement vehicle or they take the car back and refund what I paid for it.

Everything started out great throughout the car purchasing process (I bought the car on 2/10), until about a week later there was a Transmission problem. I had called them exactly 2 weeks later (2/24) and had told them the problem and had asked for it to be repaired, (yes it was a used car) The only reason why I called them was because there was engine work done on the car by their mechanics and come to find out there was no transmission fluid in it which in my opinion as well as another transmission shop i had called could have been prevented had their have been fluid in it. The paperwork I received showing the work that was done on it states "All fluids were topped off" Obviously not. Anyway, after confronting them about this their attitudes completely changed, I felt ignored, and like i was an annoyance to them. The communication was poor and I felt mistreated. I knew they really didn't want to do anything about it. I was also very nice & understanding throughout the whole ordeal. Needless to say they did fix it, but I had to pay a portion of the cost, which I don't agree with considering this could have possibly been prevented. I understand the used car process with no warranty, but in certain cases such as this, I shouldn't have had to go through all this to get it fixed. I've bought many cars from used dealerships with no warranty, and a few of them had a problem as well but, they all fixed it with no issues. I should have went with my gut and went to a different dealership, as I had a friend and a family member purchase a car in which they also had a problem with within the first few days of their purchase. Apparently the Finance manager set up something wrong with my automatic payment as well, I had called the bank my loan is through and they stated they haven't received the 2 payments I have made so far, and nobody from there will get back to me. Never will I deal with this company again.
