      I booked this venue for my wedding. I paid via PayPal. They never saved my wedding date for me, I paid the cleaning deposit of $500. I called several times to ask if they had booked my date and she told me no it wasn't booked. They never even took the date I paid the cleaning deposit for off of their availability calendar. She never had me fill out a contract, and no where on her website does it say no refunds. I called and asked for my cleaning deposit of $500 back and she hung up on me. I'm out around $1,500 including the $500 cleaning deposit. I have already mailed invites, and had koozies and other stuff made for the wedding with the wedding date I requested. Now not only do I not get to get married that day, but I have to get more postage & resend all of the invitations, re buy all of the items I have that have the wrong date, and get a new wedding dress because of them not saving my date, and I had to pay $3270.80 for the 2nd venue. She was very rude, yelled and hung up on me when I called and simply asked for my cleaning deposit back due to her negligence as it was her job to save the date I paid her for.

      Good Afternoon,

       

      I am emailing regarding the letter we received dated 3/14/2023 regarding a complaint filed again ** with an ID of ********.  On June 22nd, 2022 I received a text message asking me if May 13th was still open.  I let her know it was.  She asked how much was needed down, which I let her know was the $500 deposit.  She said she would send it via PayPal, which she did.  She later sent me a message and said that her Mom informed her it was Mothers Day weekend, so wanted to know other dates.  I sent those to her.  She never gave me a new date.  On July 10th she stopped out at the venue to look at decorations and the building.  The date she requested is still available to her, so there was no need for her to book another location or change her wedding date.  It was not removed from the website as we did not get the contract back from her as is our process.  However, it was written on our information we keep to schedule weddings.  I never hung up on her or yelled at her during the phone call.  She did tell me she was going to call a lawyer and I let her know that I would be happy to talk to them, as this is how our process works.  I did let her know that I had her down on the information we had and that the deposit was non-refundable as per our contract.  See below for exact verbiage.

       

      Deposit/Rental Fees: A signed contract and date-hold deposit of $500 must be received to reserve your date(s) and time(s).  This is nonrefundable unless The Bend, LLC is forced to cancel, and the full deposit will be refunded.  The Balance of your space rental fee is due thirty (30) days prior to your event. Deposit will be refunded after the event once cleanup has been verified.
