I signed a contract with Anytime fitness December of this year. I found out in February of this year I would be moving 64 miles away from the gym location to ************. On Feb 14th I contacted the location about moving and did not receive a response. I again messaged them on Feb 19th and did not receive a response. Around February 22nd I spoke face to face with the then gym manager, during this conversations she appeared to be high, unable to focus, slurring her speech and unable to give me answers to my questions, during this conversation she began touching me, rubbing my arms which was absolutely unwanted and very triggering to me as I am a **** survivor. It was at this time I stopped going to the gym because it is no longer a safe space to me. It was also around this time that I had another member discuss with me that she had also had similar interactions and unwanted touching, she had even witnessed the manager throw a members phone against a wall. Since then I have attempted several times to follow through with the cancelation of membership and have received no help, I have called the club, corporate, ******** messaged and emailed regarding my experience and want/need to cancel my membership.I have received 1 message back saying I could make an appointment, but when given a time it was not confirmed. And all communication has since stopped. According to my contract " if during the original term of this contract you relocate more than a 15 mile radius from the ***** you may cancel this contract by providing a 30-day written notice, proof of relocation, and a $ 50 early cancellation fee" which I am fine paying and will do so, however the corporate office is trying to say that it is a 15 mile radius from any club or affiliate club. However, I signed a contract with the ********* location, not any ************ locations. Due to the above situations I will not step foot in another anytime fitness, because of the unwanted touching/triggering.
