That he would rework my current shaft for less than $100 and that he would do it while I waited: He kept my item for over a week and then tried to charge me the same price as a new shaft that I requested.       To: **********************;
      This letter is in response to your letter of February 12, 2024, which we did not receive until February 28, 2024. We received the letter in a **** envelope because your envelope was ripped by ****. Photo enclosed. This "customer" called with a PTO driveshaft issue. He stated that the shaft would *************. I advised him that the shaft was possibly bent or twisted, causing it to be stuck together, and that he could not see the cause due to the safety *******. I stated that I could repair his shaft cheaper than buying a new shaft, and that I could make the repair while he waited if I had the correct parts on hand. I also stated that I would have to see his shaft to determine if I had the correct replacement parts. This "customer" brought the shaft to the shop on October 26, 2023, during the noon hour, I stayed and looked at it. I determined that the shaft was stuck together, due to lack of lubrication by the operator. I also determined that I did not have the correct parts to complete the repair. At this time, it was decided that repairing the shaft would be less expensive with a faster turnaround time compared to ordering a new shaft. I ordered the parts to fix the shaft while this "customer" was still here. I also called the supplier to make sure that the parts would arrive the following day. (Friday) The parts did not arrive via *** until Monday, October 30th. Due to prior commitments, I was not available to repair the shaft until Tuesday, October 31st. I stayed late Tuesday night and finished the repair. Wednesday morning, November 1st, we printed the invoice and called this "customer" to notify him the repair was completed. At that time, he asked how much the bill was. After we told him the price, he said that "you guys are nothing but a bunch of crooks" and "I am going to report you to the BBB." I did not attempt to contact him until February 28th. At that time, I called him with the intent to negotiate the price for the repair, he said "don't call here anymore" and hung up without listening to my intentions. Since this "customer" has not paid the bill, he receives a monthly statement with accrued finance charges as we do with all unpaid accounts. I have not had any requests from this "customer" to return his shaft. I cannot return his shaft in its original condition, because the repair has been made. He can pick up the shaft in its current condition if the bill is paid in full, or I am willing to ship the shaft to him at his expense. This "customer" was not told that the repair would be less than $100.00, he was told that repairing the shaft would be approximately $100.00 less expensive than a new shaft, which it is. The shaft was repaired in less than one week. Actually, 3.5 business days. I have done everything I said I would do. Hopefully, this all makes sense to you. If you have any questions, please contact me.
      Sincerely,

      I am rejecting this response because:

      *********************** is blatantly being dis-honest in his response.

      His phone calls only purpose was to intimidate.

      His statement that he quoted $100 less than new is false: ( Acctule Quote was under $100 )

      *********************** is an approved Rhyno dealer from which I purchased a $10,000 cutter from: I called him to purchase a Rhyno approved Replacement PTO Shaft NEW :

      I wanted NEW shipped asap and he was dishonest in selling me old rebuilt shaft at new price :  Please contact Rhyno cutters for support of my issue :  I ended up ordering approved Rhyno shaft from a reputable Rhyno dealer:

      Sincerely,

      Business response

      03/07/2024

      In response to complaint #********, I am standing my ground, and here is why. This customer has not even asked why the repair cost is what it is. I was not allowed to give any explanation what so ever. I called the customer to attempt to reach an agreement with an explanation of the bill but he hung up on me before I was allowed to speak and then accuses me of intimidating him. How can I possibly make him satisfied if he won't begin to talk to me. Also, about the less than $100 quote. I repair several power take off shafts per year, just like this one. On average it is a one-hour repair. My shop rate is $120.00 per hour plus parts. How dumb would I have to be to quote it for less than $100.00. This customer has misunderstood me somehow. However, I cannot figure out how or why because he refuses to speak to me like a normal person would do. This customer did purchase the new Rhino mower from me for $10,450.00 to be exact. He claims to have demanded a new PTO shaft in his BBB response and makes it sound like I refused to sell him one, but ask yourself this. Why did he bring me the shaft and leave it with me Knowing **** well that I was going to repair it? He even called me to see if the repair was done on the day that the repair parts were supposed to arrive.  The repaired shaft cost is less than a brand-new shaft, is not the same price!! If he would have expressed to me that he was displeased with the repair cost, I could have negotiated the price, but he did not allow me in any way to do so, and here we are. If anything, he is the one doing the intimidating, by threatening me to go to the BBB. I have the repaired shaft, if the customer wants it back, he will have to pay for the repair, as I have spent my money by purchasing the repair parts and spent my time making the repair. I have held up my end of the bargain. I feel that I am willing to be reasonable and that this customer is not.

      Sincerely, ***********************;
