  We signed a contract with ****** ****** Construction on 05/26/2023. The contract was for him to redo the basement staircase and add a basement bathroom. We paid him $3687.50 down as stated in the contract. He gave us a start date of 07/05/2023. He did not show and gave several excuses (behind from other job, truck in the shop, sickness and hospitalizations) for not showing throughout the months of July and August 2023. We brought our concern of his lack of follow through to him in August. He then told us that we was going to start on 08/29/2023. He did not show. He is not answering text messages, emails or phone calls. The last response from him was 09/07/2023 when he told us via email that he was in the hospital and that he would return our money upon his release. He will not return calls or messages.

  I have responded to *** ***** via text and email. I have had and am having medical issues and no longer working for myself. He went on a social media smear campaign even after I offered to send a refund. I have been sent threats of harm to me and my family because of his social media posts. When I emailed him about that his response in short was "my family and friends would never do that" as if he only smeared me on his own personal page. Which he did not. He shared it on multiple Facebook pages. Where it goes from "warning other potential customers" and turns to a smear campaign is the fact that I am no longer in business. I even had a nightmare two nights ago that someone caused harm to my son. His smear campaign has crossed the line.

  Customer states they are warning others yet they have been told multiple times that I am no longer working for myself. As a result of their smear campaign I have received threats from other people and I lost my job working for a contractor. It's simple. I'm protecting my family. Freedom of speech does not allow you to incite hate and violence as *** ***** has done with his post. Even posting on more local pages after I let him know I was receiving threats of physical violence to me and my family. This stops today.

  I am rejecting this response because: even if he is not in business for himself anymore he still owes us money! So he closed his business and thinks we have no reason to complain that he took our deposit and material money and never completed the job?? There is no smear campaign. I have posted nothing but the truth … he took our money, didn’t do the job and hasn’t refunded our money. He even admitted that he owes us a refund. We have received  nothing. We have tried to communicate with him. All we want is the money that is owed to us. I do not believe  anything this man says. This is not done today. It is resolved when we receive our refund!
