My daughter moved into Hawkeye Towers in August of 2023 and out in July 2024. When she moved in, her apartment was filthy. The roommates and families bought cleaning products to clean. We had to scrub blackness off the walls and let cleaners soak on surfaces just to get them clean. We bought new toilet seats after they would not come clean. The stickiness from the carpet would not come out. The blinds were broken which I sent maintenance requests in for. The washer and dryer never worked properly. After many maintenance requests, a dryer was put outside the front door and sat there for about 2 months. It was ruined by the weather and people vandalizing it, so it was taken away. Months later they finally got a different dryer. My daughters fire detector in her room would randomly go off and was never taken care of. I started screenshotting my maintenance requests because the requests would disappear from the portal. By July 2024, the blinds were never fixed.Throughout the year, the toilets and sinks would ******* daughter had to use the bathroom in the main office many times in the cold or middle of the night because the toilets were not being fixed after many requests that were either said they were fixed or deleted from the portal. Finally a new toilet was installed when I called and expressed my concerns for my daughters safety and that she paid her rent to have a working toilet.When my daughter moved out, the apartment was clean compared to when the girls moved in. There was no way that carpet was going to come clean without being professionally shampooed which was not done prior to them moving in. My final shock of how horrible our experience was when our deposit fee was not refunded due to cleaning fees! They also stated that it was because their blinds were broken, even though I have picture proof of the maintenance requests made in September 2023. I also find it very unprofessional for managers to not respond to emails that are sent when having concerns.
