Contractor beware... My wife and I hired COLE AND SON CONSTRUCTION to do some concrete in my backyard. Mind You I am a Navy Veteran of which I spent 20 years with the Navy Seabee, I have taught concrete mixing, placing, and finishing. I had been doing construction and specifically concrete since ****, unfortunately, I am unable to do concrete anymore due to multiple surgeries on my back and spine. We had a few other bids to do concrete and we went with **** and Son because is quote was fair and he stated that he was a veteran. I asked Cole and Son Construction to do two placements in my back yard, a pad 25X31 with a steel trowel finish and an L shape section against my house and tied into the new pad that was supposed to be a light broom finish. The work was shotty, unfinished, out of square, overlapping cold joints and there is aggregate protruding through the top of the pad and L shape placements. This is literally the worst concrete I have ever seen in my life. We met with Cole and Son Construction after the concrete was placed. I was in ****** dealing with family matters and was not around for these placements. After being blown off twice they finally came over and proceeded to tell me that it was weather that caused the issues with the concrete. Long story short, they said they would try to fix it and even set a date to come back, they never did. I have called, texted, and even tried FB Messenger to contact them to correct these deficiencies to no avail. They ignore me and my wife's calls, texts, and even went as far as blocking both of us on their personal and professional FB pages. I Know this might tick a few folks off but consumer awareness and downright dishonesty from a contractor like **** and Con Construction gives a bad name for all other companies that are true to their word. We gave them numerous chances to correct this issue and they have screwed my wife and I out of a lot of money. I pray that this goes out across Eastern ***** and so much further, Stay away from Cole and Son Construction for your concrete needs. I am posting pictures and two videos. My wife is narrating it a little bit, she only knew what she was told by the contractor when she was talking.
