In Nov. 2023, Capital City Heating installed a new furnace in my house. During the installation process, the crew damaged the box that holds the air filter. It no longer works properly. On Aug. 28, 2024, I spoke with *******. I asked her if the company could repair or replace the box. She said that the company would not do this work for free. Because the company caused the problem, I think that the company should fix the problem for free.Business response

As you can see, the filter box is in place and undamaged at the final picture of the completed furnace installation. My employee never said we could not go out and fix it for free, she simply stated that we were not hired by the client to install the furnace, we were hired by El-*** ********* ****************** and that if we were to go back we would need a work order from El-**** She said that he would need to contact El-*** so they would provide us a work order to go check and make repairs as needed. If the client himself was to have us out the would be a charge since he did not initially pay for the work to be done. El-*** is a government funded agency and we have to adhere to our contract with them in order to be compliant. As you can see in the picture, it does not appear to be damage to the filter box upon completion of our work. We would be more than happy to go back out if ****** sends us a work order, at that time we can determine if any work should be warranty or not. We would also be more than happy to return if ****** does not send a work order but if the filter box is not in the same condition as the picture of the final installation, there would be a charge to the client. Also, once the furnace installation was completed, the client signed off on the work that was done. See attached for a picture of the completed work as well as signature from client. The client also has 10 year parts and 2 year labor warranty. The 2 year labor warranty applied directly to work performed by Capital City Heating & Cooling. Again, since the customer did not pay for the work to be done initially, we will need a work order from El-*** requesting us to check out the "damage" in question. Capital City Heating & Cooling strives to perform installation and service at high standards and will stand behind the work of it's employees.
