I bought my first car from Dennis Dillon years ago and so came back for a new Nissan Versa trusting them to do the right thing. As we were close to closing the sale, they told me about this Brakes Plus contract. I was told by the sales rep it would pay an automatic $5,000 for the life of the vehicle if I were rear ended. I didnt want the contract and asked if I could take it off. One rep said yes, but **** in financing said Im not sure who told you that but its part of the deal. As I was looking over the info on the Brakes Plus in the financing office, **** pressured me saying Do you want the car or not?About a month after buying my new car, I became curious how to file a claim for the new brakes plus policy I had been charged $1663 for. So I went to the dealer, asked the sales people and they all said were not sure. You should have gotten a copy of the contract in your finance paperwork. I did not. So I contacted **** and many other representatives for a solid week with no response before finally getting a copy of the deal. Its no wonder I wasnt given a copy. Its totally different than what I was told. There is no automatic payout of $5,000. It only covers that under a total loss. And the contract only lasts 60 months not the life of the vehicle. If I would have known that I would have walked during the sale. I feel lied to not only about the contract details - but also about **** saying the contract was mandatory to buy the car. Im later learning requiring the sale of a warranty for a vehicle is illegal in *****. I would like refunded the cost of the contract and an apology from the dealer. This is not how a loyal customer should be treated and makes me not want to come back to them for a a vehicle again.

Dennis Dillon Nissan reviewed this customer's complaint and its records of the transaction. Although the dealership's records do not support the customer's claims, the dealership is willing, as a goodwill gesture, to assist the customer in resolving her concerns. The dealership's Director of Sales will contact her with a proposed resolution.

These customers purchased the vehicle from Dennis Dillon RV, LLC, d/b/a Dennis Dillon ************. Vehicles sold by Dennis Dillon RV, LLC ("DDRV"), and its assumed business names, do not have a 72 Hour Exchange or Refund Program. DDRV does not advertise such a program and does not otherwise represent that such a program exists.

The 72 Hour Exchange or Refund Program is available only on used vehicles sold by Dennis Dillon Auto Park & Truck Center, **** ("DDAP"), and Dennis Dillon's ******** Auto Mall and RV Center, LLC ("DDCAMRC"). DDAP and DDCAMRC are new vehicle franchised dealers for GMC, *********** and Nissan (DDAP) and Chrysler, Dodged, Jeep, and Ram (DDCAMRC). These dealerships advertise the program on their respective websites.

This customer purchased the vehicle from DDRV at an ********** sale event held by DDRV, DDAP, and DDCAMRC. Vehicles from all dealerships were offered for sale at the event. It appears these customers assumed the 72 Hour program applied to all Dennis Dillon branded dealerships, rather than just DDAP and DDCAMRC. Their complaint demonstrates that the efforts to explain that to the customers were not effective.

Even though DDRV does not offer a 72 Hour program, prior to receiving notice of this complaint, DDRV agreed to, as a matter of goodwill, unwind this transaction according to the terms of a confidential settlement agreement. DDRV considers this matter fully resolved.
