    Reality Management and Associates refused to pay for biohazard cleaning in my unit after 2 sewage backups. The first incident occurred on January 9th and sewage flowed from under the toilet through the bathroom, hallway, laundry closet and into the kitchen. Their emergency plumber service would not come out until the next day.After the plumbing was worked on, they left the sewage to soak down into the floor boards for three weeks. RMA told me they weren't interested in filing a claim with their insurance for the damages or cleanup. They insisted that I was responsible to pay for the cleanup and that I would be liable for any damages to property. They only sent a biohazard restoration company after I presented them with a three-day repair notice. I paid out of pocket for Bio-One ***** to disinfect the unit to try to save our things in the meantime. I also paid for the entire hotel stay of 20 days to keep me and my kids safe. The second incident of sewage backup happened less than a week after we moved back and was also refused to be cleaned by a biohazard company. RMA only paid for a sanitation of the bathroom after I paid for another week of hotel stays.My lease with RMA only required renters insurance that covered $100,000 of the owners property if it were damaged by us. Neither of the sewage backups were caused by my unit. Both incidents were the result of clogs in other units on the other side of the property.RMA requests that I file a claim with my insurance instead of paying me back for the expenses.At the time of these incidents, I didn't have sewage backup coverage on my renters insurance. The sewer is a responsibility of landlords as well as maintaining a safe and healthy environment in *****. RMA lied to me about their responsibilities as a property management company and had zero regard for our health or safety.In total I paid $6,510 for hotels, biohazard cleaning, food, replacement of household goods & protective mats for my disabled son.

    Before renting from this company be sure read all the negative reviews of tenants and their experiences. RENTERS make sure you document everything, take photos of all rooms walls and the condition you received the property in. I would keep a paper trail of correspondence and encourage you to subscribe to to **** Informed delivery that track all of your incoming mail. After 30 days of our move out I sent and email that they were in violation of ***** Code Section *****. Mysteriously the sorry reimbursement of a deposit and invoice dated over the allowed time showed up in my mail box. My first reaction was to take to small claims being that the male person at the office was such a unprofessional, poor mannered individual but instead I will continue to let potential renters know that the unfair, dishonest practices that they use. The building owners should also be informed of the poor maintenance they provide. I the apartment there were no two walls that matched, some spot were smooth and others textured but I am sure they are charging property owner a nice price for this.

    ************************* review is unfortunate due to the incorrect and vague information. The claim that her security deposit had been delivered to her in breach of the rental agreement is false. Per the rental agreement, our office had 30 days to complete the summary of security deposit and submit the summary for delivery to the tenant. RMA completed and mailed the refunded security deposit to the forwarding address provided by ********************* with-in the contractual timeline. RMA strongly encourages all tenants and landlords to properly document the condition of a rental at the commencement of a tenancy, during a tenancy and at the conclusion of the tenancy. This documentation is what allows for successful experiences between tenants and landlords. In the summary of security deposit that was sent to *********************, the summary included copies of invoices of work completed by 3rd party professional vendors. RMA does not complete any maintenance or cleaning and all work is scheduled with these independent 3rd party vendors that complete their own checklist and notes in returning the rental to a rent ready condition. The tenant was billed for tenant responsible cleaning and damage at the conclusion of the tenancy. The owner of the property covered the cost of any normal wear and tear that *** have taken place during the tenancy. Per the resources provided by RMA, ********************* submitted a written letter outlining that she was not to be held responsible for any of the substantial cleaning and maintenance issues left at the property without disputing the support documents that had been provided to ********************* by these 3rd party companies. Unfortunately ********************* appears determine to use false information to publicly criticize RMA for adhering to the rental agreement. RMA cannot outright ignore the terms of the rental agreement in an attempt to appease unreasonable expectation of a previous tenant. We do wish ********************* the best of luck on her housing in the future.
