I was involved in an accident that I was not found at fault for on 10/4/2022. My vehicle was towed to ******'s Auto Body where it was set to be repaired, the claim was being handled by the faulty party's insurance company. My vehicle stayed in the shop for approximately 3 months. When I picked up the vehicle on 01/16/2022, ****** charged me a 500 dollar deductible. I was falsely under the assumption that my insurance provider would refund the deductible for me once it was payed. However, upon contacting both my and the faulty party's insurance, and viewing the official copy of the estimate, I discovered I was never supposed to be charged. When I arrived at his shop, ****** told me his card reader was "Not working" and said I could either pay with cash or through ******** Messenger (MetaPay). I payed him directly through ******** Messenger for 500 dollars, he sent me an official invoice in an email and provided me with a physical one. I called and left a voicemail on 02/03/2023 demanding that he refund the money. He has been simply dodging me and giving me non-answers. He also failed to perform an alignment which I had to get done somewhere else which he later reimbursed me for, the alignment that he was paid by Progressive to perform. I filed a dispute with my bank and I just now had to reopen the dispute. They claim they can only dispute the charge with MetaPay and not with ****** directly. I have just contacted him on 3/10/2023 and told him that he is committing fraud and that if he does not send the money back to me I will be serving him in court.
