    12/10/23-12/12-23 We checked into the Best Western Caldwell in room 110 and stayed the night. The following day we moved to room 109 because it was no longer available. When getting ready for bed, I spotted a small flat bug on my pillow case. I recognized it as a bed bug and proceeded to flip over the mattress and find another bed bug on the box spring. Deeply concerned, we captured pictures and called the front desk. We moved out and although the front desk offered to move us to another room we were no longer comfortable staying in the hotel. They offered to refund us for the last night but not for the first night. I now have ***** bites on my body from only staying in a room 109 for 3 hours total. I believe that there were bed bugs in the previous room as well based on the amount of bites I have. Out of the two people staying in the room only myself had bites. And no one from our home or other individuals around us have any bites or indication of bed bugs further indicating the source. Plain and simple. The bed bugs were found in the hotel room. The manager *************************** did not compose himself professionally or hospitably. He refused to share information about the exterminator inspection, or give us information to contact them directly. We vacated our room at 3 AM and are requesting that he pay for the hotel we had to flee to late at night. He has denied that request. He has also denied our request for a full refund of both nights in spite of the multitude of bites I sustained. We are deeply unsatisfied with the situation but equally dissatisfied with ***************************** approach and professionalism. At every chance to be courteous, we were met with defensiveness and even blame. I writing this in an attempt to recover the costs incurred from our stay, as well as to make record of this bed bug incident so other customers can be informed.

    Zero stars for this hotel!I made a hotel reservation on the app at 2:50 pm in the afternoon being upfront that we were traveling with a cat. The website acknowledges being pet friendly but did not state no cats allowed. Just 10 minutes after making my reservation, the hotel called and said I can't stay at the hotel because of the cat AND since it is less than 48 hours before my stay they will not refund the $193 I was charged. This is just poor customer service and bad, unethical business practice. I understand you cancelled my stay but a refund would be expected in this scenario (it took 10 minutes for all of this to happen). I've attempted three times to resolve this with the hotel and am always told that the manager is not available and will call me back. I have NEVER received a call back. Be careful staying at this hotel.
