In November 2018 we found mold on the underneath side of the sheeting. When standing on top of the roof, the eves and around the edges felt spongy After opening an insurance claim, ************************* approved replacing the roof due to "Ice Daming."Idapro came out and assured us they would solve the issue and make sure the roof was properly ventilated and weather proofed so we would never have the issue again. They tore off all shingles and all of the sheeting. All the sheeting that had mold was thrown away and new shingles were installed along with new underlayment.Fast forward to April 2023. While doing a small remodel, we opened up the ceiling to find mold everywhere. 20x the mold that we originally found back in 2018. The mold however this time was in a completely different location. It was thickest up near the ridge of the roof and thin to none where we found it back in 2018 near the edges.After counseling with 3 different roofing companies it became apparent that Idapros workmanship was terrible.A few of the things they did:- After removing all the sheeting, they attempted to reinstall the baffles and then clogged them with batting insulation cutting off circulation from the soffit vents - They failed to check to see if the attic vents that they had torn off and reinstalled were functioning. Ex. one of them never got plugged back in - Some of the attic vents they reinstalled were broken.- Its common practice to replace the roof vents when replacing a **** and they failed to do so.- The decking also wasn't cut large enough for the vents that they did reinstall. - They also reinstalled architectural shingle on a 1.7/12 pitch roof which is against ***** code. 905.2.According to the code they should have not installed the type of shingle they did. Since the roof is a flat roof, a rolled comp or membrane roofing is code.They need to put the correct type of shingle up and get the ventilation right!
