Purchased a firearm conversion kit. Item would not safely operate and was sent back for refund. Purchased for my wife and it wouldnt allow trigger to operate properly and I feared a mishap. Business has been very reluctant to make this right. I had to have the slide taken off the frame by a professional gunsmith as it was hung up on frame. It was slightly scratch in the process. Business would not accept return due to it. The damage was caused by the firearm conversion issue. Firearm operates as designed with oem slide. This is a malfunction on a firearm and should be refunded for safety reasons alone.Initial Complaint

On December 18th, 2023, I purchased a threaded barrel directly from Advantage Arms at cost of $130 with additional $10 for shipping. The item I was received did not match the item pictured, as the item pictured was matte black, and the item received was shiny, silver, unpainted metal. I contacted customer service, and the representative acknowledged the item received did not match the item pictured. However, I was only offered a refund of 65% of actual item cost (35% re-stocking fee). The purpose of this complaint is to raise awareness of their deceptive and unfair business practices, and hopefully reach a financial resolution.This request is based on the following observations:- The item received is clearly not the item pictured. A pixel-based color analysis of the item pictured shows the item color is in the spectrum of black. Additionally, the picture includes a Glock-style slide, which is also black. The slide and the barrel are in the same spectrum of black. The inclusion of a similarly colored item in the picture as a reference implies both items are the same color (black).- Depictions of the same class of barrel from their company on other websites show the item as shiny, metallic silver in color. A reasonable person would conclude the item listed on their site has different cosmetic features than those listed elsewhere.
